ADMIRAL WEIR MEMORIAL CROQUET TOURNAMENT 2015. The Annual croquet match was held by Delabole branch for many years at the Home of their President Rear Admiral Alec Weir until his Crossing the Bar. She in turn was presented with flowers by Shipmate Colin Armstrong the St Austell branch organiser. The tournament coincided with what would have been Admiral Alec's and Ann's wedding anniversary. Remembrance Sunday Delabole 2014. We assembled for the Remembrance service at 14.30 at the War Memorial. Shaun Edwards carried the Royal British Legion Standard and Clyde Ferguson was the Royal Naval Association Standard Bearer. Delabole RBL President Geoff Cleave marched the parade off behind the Camelford Town Band. Along the High Street to the Methodist Chapel at Medrose for the main service conducted by Reverend Brian Ede and Reverend Peter Dixon. Photographs by Adrian Jasper.

Commemoration of the outbreak of WW1. In the years between 1914 and 1918 three hundred and nine men from Delabole left their homes, their families and their jobs and went off to serve King and Country in what became known as. The Great War. Over thirty of them never came back, having died or been killed on active service. After the War ended money was raised by the community for the purpose of establishing a memorial garden in the village to honour and perpetuate the memory of those that had fallen.
