Spinning wool, natural dyes, and tapestry weaving,. Newer posts →. April 2, 2016. I have had the urge to weave lately. No big projects are in the works, but I am trying out some patterns on my rigid heddle loom, sampling threads and yarns on my vintage Peacock loom and a little knitted shawl on the side. I found a pick-up pattern to go along with the Brooks Bouquet pattern. This is a gift for an aunt in Kentucky. More to come at My Yellow Swing. I Am So Ready! March 10, 2016. http://stitchesandhooves.blogspot.com/2014/03/tired-of-winter-wonderland.html
Sunday, March 9, 2014. Tired Of The Winter Wonderland. This Winter has been great forr taking pictures. I have to say even I have had enough. Even the horses have had. Max and Bill for the first winter have been wearing blankets. They are getting older so they need the extra warmth. Many days have been spent inside the barn with high winds and cold temps combined. Bill never minds having some extra attentions.lol. Last month another Birthday! How did that year go so fast? We are watching T.V. Mom.

Never too hot to stitch! My UFOs and WiPs. 8220;I May Have a Scrap Problem” July goals. July 9, 2016. This month I would like to focus my scrap goals on actually using some of my scraps rather than storing them. DD and the Grandsons are here with us for ten days (school holidays) which has helped me focus my attention. Sarah, of Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Are you taking a summer break from sewing or are you pressing on, regardless of the weather? I May Have a Scrap Problem. 2 thoughts on “ ...

two finishes – Never too hot to stitch!
https://never2hot2stitch.wordpress.com/2016/05/27/two-finishes
Never too hot to stitch! My UFOs and WiPs. May 27, 2016. May 28, 2016. At the beginning of April, just in time for Caring Hearts Community Quilters’ annual. Airing of the Quilts. It didn’t take long for Older Grandson and Younger Grandson to learn that sewing squares required more care than sewing strips and they soon lost interest. But I can’t let a project die because two young children don’t want to work on it any more. I showed you the finished flimsy. 8220;Road to Whoopi” finished front. I have two ...

Stitches & Hooves: July 2013
http://stitchesandhooves.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 26, 2013. In one year we have found ourselves the most loving, wonderful, intelligent, sweet, smart dog! Harry came to us like this just over a year ago! So small, needing hugs and love! He gave us that back ten fold and still is. Harry is my light! He wants to learn. Can't stand to not "do" something. So with my limited mobility we train and play. Raincoat.you must be kidding! OK lady I will try it. He now thinks it is "cool" and stands to get it put on. As many of you know I have low vision.

FUN WITH FIBER: March 2015
http://funwithfiber.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 06, 2015. Not to much activity around here. I did manage to get some head bands knit on my new Addi. That thing is so quick. It takes me longer to crochet the two sides together than it does to knit them up. Hopefully it will be warming up this weekend. Imagine spring is just right around the corner. Thank goodness! Wednesday, August 13, 2014. We landed in Grand Forks around 11:00 and hadn't eaten a thing all day so we went to the Blue Moose Bar And Grill. In East Grand Forks, Minnesota for lunch. We had a great meal and the inside is decorated so nice. Lots of wood paneling and a rustic feel. Our nephew Wayne, nieces Susann and Carla with my sister Ann and brother in law Edmund. Our great nieces and nephews. Back row: Kayla, Adam, Rebeca, Ann and Ed, Sara, and Blaze. Front row: Gavin and Lindsey. Just a very good t...

FUN WITH FIBER: May 2014

Thursday, May 29, 2014. I then patted out as much water and dye as I could and wrapped the roving up and put it in a microwave safe bowl. Set the timer for 2 minutes and let cool and repeated three more times. You want to set the dye but not cook the roving. After it was completely cooled I rinsed the roving and the water ran clear. I dried it out side so it looks a little washed out but we had a nice breezy sunny day and it didn't take long to dry. Singles on the bobbin. Plied and ready to knit. My firs...
