Bits and bobs of various craft or writing designs, ideas and projects. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Seasonal Sparkle: Christmas Sequin Ornaments. I know it's been a terribly long time since my last post - two months, in fact - but for various reasons I haven't been very crafty in a while. That changed this week, though, and I've powered my way through the creation of a handful of sequined Christmas ornaments. And some finished ornaments:. Once I get started, the ornaments tend to get finished within a c...

Little Bloo Creativity: January 2011
http://bloocrafts.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Bits and bobs of various craft or writing designs, ideas and projects. Sunday, January 2, 2011. Stepping Into 2011: A New Diary/Day Planner. This post has been in the works for a couple of days, but I was hoping to wait until I had finished this project before posting. Nothing fancy this time; and the final project definitely looks home-made, but I love it for its imperfection. My 'through the months' pages were still missing something, though, so I went back and decorated each new month with a miniature...

magnificasti mirabilia: Off my needles: Liesl, etc.
http://magnificasti.blogspot.com/2012/03/off-my-needles-liesl-etc.html
It's all about the process. Saturday, March 3, 2012. Off my needles: Liesl, etc. I am so happy with my new handknit! It looks orange in the photo, but really it's a beautiful hand-dyed red. (I did get a better picture of the color. The Holyoke Sweater (design by Wenlan Chia) is my first foray into colorwork. It was amazingly easy to do the two-stranded pattern, and so satisfying! In Red Bank, NJ, so I could choose some in person. Hence, just off the needles is the left sleeve of Wenlan Chia's Matinee Coat.

magnificasti mirabilia: October 2010
http://magnificasti.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

So I had been arduously spinning the angora roving I bought at the Garden State Sheep Breeders Sheep and Fiber Festival back in September - on my spindle - and I had worked through about four ounces in a month. Along comes my spinning wheel and zoom! I zipped through the second four ounces in less than a day. Here I am plying the spindled yarn with the wheel-spun yarn with a little help from Kelsey the cat:. Links to this post. The stats: Natural Grey...
