The Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) as an event to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The first Buddy Walk in Mobile was held in 2007. The Blues and Grooves Festival. An annual music celebration in Mobile, that helps promote Down syndrome awareness. The festival is made up of local musicians, business owners, friends, family, and other non-profits volunteering their time and talent for a fun-filled day of music and awareness.
