stitchintheditch: July 2008
http://makeitsew07.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 26, 2008. Nuffin' much to say. I keep thinking I should enter something on the blog, but never think I have anything interesting to say. My sewing table is cluttered with about six different projects in varying stages, and with summer here, a lot of the storms are keeping me from running my Bernina, just in case of lightning. Waah! Today the sun is shining so I hear my machine calling me. But first, gotta let the dog out. I'll post pics when I get something finished. Back later!

stitchintheditch: March 2009
http://makeitsew07.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Which is good, as it's spring now, lol. (Thanks, Val.). I've done a grid pattern across the diagonal and the corners are free motion with the BSR foot. Oops. my bread is done and I need to remove it from the oven. I'm making a 7 grain bread recipe from my bread machine cookbook but have recently discovered if I use the dough/pasta cycle I can take it out and bake it in the oven and get a much better bread. the French bread was out of this world! Hope they show up okay. I hate pla...

Shirley Goodwin - Dyeing2Design: A new project! (part 3)
http://shirleygoodwin.blogspot.com/2014/03/a-new-project-part-3.html
Shirley Goodwin - Dyeing2Design. Musings of a dyer and fiber artist from Lord of the Rings and Narnia country, the South Island of New Zealand. Friday, March 07, 2014. For the Rust Orange triangles, I decided on a quite different design. It started out to be leaves but it looks more trees. I find it helps to not overthink your designs. I started by drawing the shapes, but when I began to cut, they came out differently. Here's the design on Contact paper on the screen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The blog of the arty/crafty side of my life.plus random rambling when the need takes me.Also a place to record ideas for projects and the methods I've used to make them. Saturday, June 23, 2007. I've been plotting for some time now to find a way to be a 'proper' textile artist instead of just someone who makes stuff out of fabric that her friends like and plead with her till she gives them them. Last time I had been the...

Shirley Goodwin - Dyeing2Design: A spot of shibori
http://shirleygoodwin.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-spot-of-shibori.html
Shirley Goodwin - Dyeing2Design. Musings of a dyer and fiber artist from Lord of the Rings and Narnia country, the South Island of New Zealand. Sunday, January 25, 2015. A spot of shibori. Or "tie dye", as some may know it. In addition to dyeing colour gradation bundles of fabric for the Textile Emporium shop, I have been doing a spot of shibori. Firstly, some silk scarves. The shibori effects were very subtle on the scarves as they are so thin and fine. The green one had small unripe peaches tied in it.

My Small Cornish Garden: August 2009
http://mysmallcornishgarden.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
My Small Cornish Garden. Monday, 31 August 2009. Reasons to be cheerful! It did rain today! The lawn didn’t get cut! The garden is still in need of care and attention! But there are things to be happy about. Hidden behind other plants I found self sown non stop begonias. One is a lovely salmon pink. And is hiding under the back wall, and the other is a bright yellow in with the lavender. In a stone tub. Quite unexpected! Lovely to have a change! They have finally fallen over! What more does one want!

My Small Cornish Garden: May 2012
http://mysmallcornishgarden.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
My Small Cornish Garden. Tuesday, 22 May 2012. Today we ate our first new potatoes and they were really, really good. Only six of them but enough for the two of us! I don't think the plant has produced very many as I had to scrabble around for these but better than none! The lettuce seeds are doing well and managed to survive the dry spell without water while we were away in Malvern. I can see that we will be having lots of blackcurrants again. I still haven't used all of last years!
