Cobbling a life. | cobble, cobble

Piecing it all together. My sister fondly (I think) calls me a cobbler for my tendency to make stuff and/or claim, “I could make that! I’m embracing that name here. Cobbling is a mindset. It’s a way of taking the pieces in life—leftovers and layoffs, scraps and seeds—and putting them to use in a meaningful way. Sometimes you have instructions and plans and tutorials, and sometimes you don’t. Either way, there’s satisfaction in the homemade and the homegrown. Feed You can leave a response. I loved all the...

Breadcrumbs lost under the snow. Maybe it terrifies me this quiet siege. Feb 12th, 2010 at 11:06 AM. Washington, DC Snow Storm. Dec 30th, 2009 at 10:00 AM. He knew that all my other beginnings. Had purpose in preparing me. So when the ball drops and the world cheers for their second chance, where do i go from there? Maybe we have more questions than answers right now, but that's okay. spring is distant, but it is in the cold months where life first begins to stir. Will the hive survive, will the gladiolas.

Beeps 'n Rays: March 2012
http://beepsnrays.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 23, 2012. Reclaim Your Free Time! Culturally, there's now a vision of work without end as the central focus of one's existence- but leisure is a crucial part of the American Dream.". To reclaim our free time- and enjoy it- 'shifting our standards is critical. our expectations that we can get everything done are totally out of sync with our lives.' We would be happier if we prioritized time for ourselves. Thursday, March 22, 2012. PS: I just realized that this month marks my THIRD ANNIVERSAR...

Baby Name Dilemma | blog erin, blog!
https://blogerinblog.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/baby-name-dilemma-4
Blog erin, blog! Just another WordPress.com weblog. What does Erin have to blog about? Who knew coming up with a baby name would be so gosh darn hard? As a kid I always used to come up with baby names, but for whatever reason, they were always girl names. I loved Kaylee for a while, and then I moved on to Josephine Alexandra, and from there I went to Abigail. And all that time, never once thinking of a boy name! But now here I am. With a precious little boy on the way – and no name in sight!

Beeps 'n Rays: Custom Curtains
http://beepsnrays.blogspot.com/2012/04/custom-curtains.html
Monday, April 9, 2012. Take a look at our sun room before the curtains. The fabric is perfect and my crew of workers couldn't have been better! My mom and I sewed for a day and a half straight (it was a LOT of fabric to deal with) and then my hubby and dad hung the curtains for me today. Aren't they cute? Whimsical, light, and airy, just like this room should be. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention that I followed a tutorial. For the faux Roman shade. Labels: House and Home. Beeps 'n Rays: August 2011
http://beepsnrays.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Yeah, it's been that kind of day where even B's toes. Are protesting. hehe! Monday, August 29, 2011. Well, we're trying to get this school year off to a good start, but Mother Nature sure is making it difficult! Today was supposed to be the first day of school, but because of widespread power outages after Hurricane Irene, I spent the day at home. It was so weird to have the first day. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Did you feel the earthquake, too? Several things were knocked over...

Beeps 'n Rays: July 2011
http://beepsnrays.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. Summer in the city,. Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city". Beautiful day, but hot! Thank goodness for the cool breeze blowing off of the Mediterranean (the same "mistral" wind we enjoyed while visiting Cassis in southern France). It was like air conditioning for the city. Las Ramblas is a long, wide pedestrian street full of little artsy-craftsy vendors and performance artists. Keep your backpacks and purses close to you! Which we saw in person while in Madrid. How cool! Ironic...

wintering - breadcrumbs lost under the snow
http://autumn-crimson.livejournal.com/129441.html
Breadcrumbs lost under the snow. Maybe it terrifies me this quiet siege. Dec 30th, 2009 at 10:00 AM. He knew that all my other beginnings. Had purpose in preparing me. The christmas tree in my living room is giving me an empty stare. i hate to see it like this - i hate these anachronistic days inbetween, when you're floating around waiting for one thing to end so the next can begin. each year i face this, and it never gets any easier. christmas is over and we face a long, bleak winter ahead.
