August 18, 2011. Cultural Imperialism: ‘Meteor Garden’ and its invasion across Asia. Is a Taiwanese live-action show based on Japanese manga series, Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flower). It is basically an Asian version of Cinderella story that depicts the romance between the rich and the poor. The show became a smash success. In Asia during the early 2000s and has made its way to captivate fans across Asian countries such as in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
