First Year Design Stream Students Robots Race to Ping Pong Targets. November 29, 2016. Every semester students in the first class of the Mechanical Engineering Design Stream, MecE 260, participate in a competition of vehicles that they designed and built themselves. This fall semester the vehicles were designed to travel across a roughened surface and shoot ping pong balls into a dartboard-like target area, with increasing points as the targets got smaller.
