1000 thoughts/second: Sunday night
http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2010/01/sunday-night.html
January 10, 2010. Had a really good day today. A lot of the things I've been working on at my church are finally coming together. Feeling like I can live into this week carrying the 'good' of the morning with me. Praying that I can become more connected with a spiritual rhythm that becomes as natural as breathing. This week. more praying the Examen and some Lectio Divina. Posted by Mary Beth Hancock McCandless. Living into, around, through, and often in spite of these practices and ways of being.

http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2010_10_10_archive.html
October 12, 2010. Love first - revisited. Has been my lens for living since beginning seminary at LPTS in August of 2008 (I'm on the. Challenged me to my core to say the least. I chose in those first moments on campus to. For me that means that every time I am faced with a situation, or person, or idea that challenges me (or my internalized, learned, value systems),. I take a deep breath and choose to quietly and intentionally love the person connected with the challenge first. Peace and Presence,.

January 11, 2010. Sometimes little things sneak into a day and surprise you with a jolt of grace that can be felt all the way through to the toes. And I'm continuing to work on praying the Examen at various times during the day - I'll post more toward the end of this week.). Posted by Mary Beth Hancock McCandless. 1000 thoughts/second: Friends
http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2010/01/friends.html
January 10, 2010. OKjust so you know.it's still the 9th somewhere so this post has to 'count' as January 9th since I haven't slept yet. Today was a day for making new friends. I love that. I finally got to meet some people my husband has talked about at length for a couple of months. They are all he said they were. The really wonderful thing is that I like them as much as he does. God is good. Friendship can definitely fit into the realm of "spiritual practice". Posted by Mary Beth Hancock McCandless.

http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2010_01_03_archive.html
January 8, 2010. Today I experienced work as a spiritual practice. I'm glad I've decided to shift to half time at school and to be more physically present at my work (the past year has been full of hours and hours of working after 'normal' hours - which is all well and good except for those for whom that pattern of working is difficult to comprehend.). Being 'at work' today felt grounded in hope. Posted by Mary Beth Hancock McCandless. Links to this post. January 7, 2010. Being - day three. Tomorrow I'm ...

http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2009_12_27_archive.html
January 2, 2010. Home Such a loaded word. I've been thinking a lot about 'home' through the past few weeks. Since I've been fighting bronchitis, strep, sinus, and ear infections I've spent more time at home than 'normal.' I've also spent more time in other people's homes because of the holiday season. I've decided that some homes have a wonderful feeling of welcome - like I could just stay (forever) and some homes make me want to go home (pretty quickly). I've never before considered how deeply spiritual...

1000 thoughts/second: Reclaiming Sabbath
http://thoughtspersecond.blogspot.com/2010/02/reclaiming-sabbath.html
February 13, 2010. I've been running about a thousand miles per hour in addition to thinking about a thousand thoughts per second. In 2010 I'm realizing more than ever before the necessity of sabbath. I'm not talking about the normal Protestant idea of 'Sunday' that is as driven by some work ethic that I'm not confident is of God - I'm talking about time to be. Just to be in God's presence. Recently I ran across this:. Be still and know I am God. Be still and know I am. Be still and know. Work (church an...
