Ben & Alex: Alex's Field Trip
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2015/05/alexs-field-trip.html
Wednesday, May 06, 2015. Alex has been looking forward to his field trip for weeks. It got rescheduled because of rain and then he got sick the day before, so it seemed like he wasn't supposed to make this trip but it finally worked out. I'm not sure he felt 100% that day but there was no way he was missing the trip to Dewberry Farm! Since I was a chaperone, Alex got to pick his buddy for the day and he chose precious little Gillian. They are so much alike it's scary! And held hands during the day! Ben e...

Ben & Alex: February 2015
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 15, 2015. Seems like teeth are falling out left and right.Ben's smile changed again last week! Loving the new space. Apparently, Alex didn't agree with my dinner plans. My first customer review in the kitchen and it wasn't a good one. Monday, February 02, 2015. Last month, the Nutcracker. This month, the monster truck show! We're trying to raise well-rounded boys :). He took the chance to race his own truck for a few minutes before we had to leave the track. The crashes were pretty aweso...

Ben & Alex: Pictures That Make Me Smile
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2015/03/pictures-that-make-me-smile.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Pictures That Make Me Smile. The kids get spring pictures at school but I already knew I wasn't buying them because we got fall pictures and were about to get baseball pictures as well. I forgot to tell the kids and didn't pay any attention to what they wore to school that day. Alex's teacher let him call me because he was traumatized by his "terrible" t-shirt. You never know what's going to bother boys! Would you like to float a few pancakes in that lake of syrup? Life and Advent...

Ben & Alex: Spring
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring.html
Wednesday, April 15, 2015. The absolute best thing about springtime in Texas is the wildflowers! Nothing beats fields of bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes. Next best thing, turning big boxes into front yard forts. These boxes kept the kids entertained for an entire Friday afternoon and evening. They even put a tarp over it during a rainy night but the wind ripped it up the next day. There were tears when all the materials went into the recycling. Easter Sunday was a beautiful morning at church together.

Ben & Alex: May 2014
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2014. When the Dulaneys were visiting last month, Scott brought his nice camera and got some gorgeous pictures of the kids. While we were busy catching up, he was quietly capturing moments with the kids so these were a wonderful surprise. Unfortunately, the vertical shots are all sideways (and backwards, if you look closely - Alex throws right handed and Ben bats left handed) but you can still enjoy them. This series made me laugh until I cried! My favorite baseball shots. That evening...

Ben & Alex: June 2014
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 29, 2014. Kauai, Part II. After our long day driving around most of the island, we took it easy the next day, slept in a bit and then hiked to a few waterfalls on the east coast. First was Ho'opi falls which we found after a nice 15-minute hike through a beautiful forest. The kids were having a great time climbing up and down the hills and weren't even concerned with the little matter of actually finding the waterfall.they were all about the adventure. There is even a tiny pool perfect for r...

Ben & Alex: July 2014
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Made it up to Dallas to see Aunt Stacey, Uncle Jason, and Reid and to introduce the boys to their new cousin Carter. It took so long for us to match up schedules that little Carter is already 4 months old! Ben was in love at first sight and sat right down to hold Carter. (He wasn't quite as excited for a picture, though) He sat next to Carter in the car and talked to him and loved it when Carter smiled back. Apparently, bumbo seats can fit 6-year olds as well. Who knew? Although...

Ben & Alex: January 2015
http://benkirkham.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Brazos Bend State Park. The kids had a holiday on an absolutely gorgeous day, so we decided to check out a nearby state park along the Brazos river. Ben got to cut some walking sticks with his pocketknife and Alex got to climb some trees, so the trip was an easy success. While Alex was in a tree, I got the honor of holding his stick and his lizard. Lucky me! It took a while, but we finally started spotting some of the wildlife we really wanted to see - alligators! Ben (who was a...
