Educating Iona: June 2014
http://educatingiona.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Adventures in home education from one year old. Tuesday, 10 June 2014. I discussed with Iona what was used in which cultures before paper and when and where paper was invented, then put a couple of dates on our timeline. I've yet to find out how good the final product will be, as the paper has not yet dried. Want to do it! I decided to trust her and let her do it all herself:. Surprisingly, I don't think much. Of the mixture ended up in her mouth, and they taste delicious! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Educating Iona: Letterland and arty pursuits
http://educatingiona.blogspot.com/2013/02/letterland-and-arty-pursuits.html
Adventures in home education from one year old. Thursday, 28 February 2013. Letterland and arty pursuits. It's been a long while again since my last post, partly because I've been too busy with Iona to put anything on here, and partly because of work I've been putting into the small charity I founded and run with my brothers (Chreda). From Amazon. Iona has the sort of brain that loves to work in stories, so this system is ideal, giving her a story behind why, for example, s. Together make a sh. Lite onto...

Happily Home Edding: Ice Princess & Academic Dithering
http://ukhappilyhomeedding.blogspot.com/2010/02/ice-princess-academic-dithering.html
Monday, February 01, 2010. Ice Princess and Academic Dithering. Work-wise at home, we did some more biology, finishing up the end of our work on cells, cancer, cell division etc. More computer programming with my Dad, which is going down very well indeed. Emily presented him with a long list of what she wants to learn, computer-wise, over the next few months (! 8226; I want to learn how viruses spread and how they work. 8226; I want to learn to create applications that work inside a webpage. OKwell, that...

Three Degrees of Freedom: Ten years ago today
http://threedegreesoffreedom.blogspot.com/2015/04/ten-years-ago-today.html
Saturday, 18 April 2015. Ten years ago today. Ten year ago today. Ten years ago. Today. We began home educating. We thought we had to use school books. But we didn't have to. Unless our children found them interesting. We thought we would get into trouble for stepping into the unknown. But we didn't. We found we could breathe. Really breathe. And be fascinated. By everything. We thought we 'should' study certain things. But we didn't. Unless my young ladies wanted to. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Dutchess Discloses: Is Cumbria LA showing BadManners?

53 year old Dutch woman - living in England since 2003, mother of 3 (d21, s19, d15), married (happily, most of the time), devoted to autonomous education and living, intuitive/common sense parenting and making the most of each moment in a sort of Zen way - blogs to keep track of herself. Happily Home Edding: May 2009
http://ukhappilyhomeedding.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 11, 2009. Sad Family News and Notes from the Asylum. It's been a roller coaster few weeks here, with some exciting highs but also some terribly sad family news and related family tensions. Jon was asked by The Henley Standard to write an obituary for his brother, as they grew up in the Henley area and David was well known in the community there. I'll add a link to it when it goes into this week's issue. On the night, the team noticed that during Jon's pauses, as he was listening to spirit, th...

Educating Iona: January 2013
http://educatingiona.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Adventures in home education from one year old. Tuesday, 15 January 2013. I do not want to go sledding ever again! We had a good fall of snow during the day yesterday, which Iona loved, although she got really upset at getting her hands too cold when we were first out in it. She was thrilled this morning to see her snowman (mostly made by me! Although I set the tray near the bottom so she didn't have too far to go, it was a bit too. This was shortly followed by the emphatic comment "I do not. We then had...
