Whilst there seems to be a lot of internet and armchair astronomy out there - my main interest is in real observational astronomy. I like to keep things simple. Thursday, 8 April 2010. A nice clear and transparent night last night, for a change. Just after sunset Venus was brilliant in the west, and Mercury was visible in the binoculars, as it got darker, it popped into view, naked eye. Friday, 20 March 2015. Members of Chester Astronomical Society will be outside Chester town hall from about 8.30 AM to view the eclipse. Members of the public are most welcome to join them.
