The Bellands: December 2008
http://shayla8.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 23, 2008. At War Against Myself. I suppose I set myself up for this dilemma when Aaron and I decided we would let our children believe in Santa. The problem: Ashton has asked Santa for 1, and only 1, toy - a "real" Dodge Ram with doors that open on the side and a tailgate that really lifts and lowers. Okay, it is a Fisher-Price type Power Wheels truck. =) But it is still $300! 300 is a lot of money to spend on. Not to mention a 3 year-old! Something I've only done a few times.

This is the fourth time I've written this post. I feel like I'm standing outside myself, hopelessly watching as I slowly become obsessive compulsive. Is that normal for someone developing O.C.D? Or maybe it's a good sign that I'm not developing it. Well either way, I know even as I write this that if I could very well rewrite this again, starting with "This is the fifth.". The weather is very cold in Meizhou these days. How about American? I miss you very much, I hope you can remember me too. Are you planning to come back Meizhou? This friday, we all go to have our internship for two months. This is the first time for us to be the teachers. For one hand, I'm excited to be a teacher in a junior school in my hometown, for another hand, I'm afraid I am not good enough to be an excellent English teacher. However,I will try my best to be a good teacher! I get my email, news, wea...

This is a Hold Up. I'm sure that he'd be happy to have you. I'm not sure what the move back here is going to do to my photography and writing. A year ago I was visiting Hong Kong for the first time, and I can safely say that it made for slightly better pictures. I'm not complaining. Those are pretty decent crappie in my left hand, you know. The Bellands: August 2008
http://shayla8.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2008. Haha I love how it says August 29, 2008. That's when I started this post - and it didn't get finished and published until November 25, 2008! But I DID IT! In fact, the reason there haven't been any posts recently is because I told myself that I couldn't add any until I finished recording what we did for our vacation, or else I would never finish! I'm telling you - this was truly a "staycation"! Aaron's kind of camping. Friday the four of us went to The Legends shopping center in ...

The Bellands: I Want My Mommy...
http://shayla8.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-want-my-mommy.html
Saturday, April 04, 2009. I Want My Mommy. Ashton has a usual routine of asking that Mommy tuck him in to bed, and tonight Aaron told Ashton that. Was going to tuck Ashton in to bed! As usual, Ashton, in his dismay, whimpered and whined over and over again, "No, I want my Mommy to tuck me in.". So while I was tucking Ashton in to bed, I asked him, "why do you so badly want mommy to always tuck you in instead of Daddy? I wanted a serious answer. (Yes, I was trying to boost my self esteem! I Want My Mommy.

A decades-long search for the giant squid in the wild ended yesterday, when scientists reported recording the beast the ocean deep, south of Japan. They took extensive video and photographs of the beast, which measures about 26 feet in length with eyes the size of basketballs. I couldn't sleep last night. Eyes the size of basketballs- and ink to boot. Posted by anthony at 7:55 AM. Ready, Cue the Sun" by David Brooks. Patrick Leahy: Absolutely, Mr. Chairman! Specter: Very well put, Senator Leahy! Came to Wichita for a few days with my mom, who's convening with other school nurses. They all get to write the convention off , so lucky for all of us they chose to live it up at the Hyatt on the riverfront downtown. Posted by anthony at 10:07 AM. Geology Rocks, Indeed. My friend Nathan and I were judging an international food competition that our department's students hosted. We hadn't planned to wear matching Jiaying University shirts. In fact, we were both just filling in for fellow teachers who couldn't make it. Posted by anthony at 1:21 AM. I've seen similar tactics in Meizhou (below), where a guy stands on the top of a rickety step ladder and swings a shirt over his head, screaming something at the top of his lungs. Nathan reported someone beating a bucket wit...
