Fielder's Choice Blog. April 10, 2009 at 11:53 pm Posted in Baseball. Of course I posed with it, and here I am with the official symbol of the Rays championship:. Seeing the trophy in person was definitely one of the happiest moments of my life, and this immediately becomes one of my favorite photos. It was awesome for the Rays to share the trophy with their growing legion of fans in North Carolina. William Harridge, by the way, was the president of the American League from 1931 to 1958. Fielder's Choice Blog. February 27, 2010 at 1:32 am Posted in Uncategorized. So I think it’s praise-worthy when a card company comes up with an idea that really is innovative, and they don’t over-do it to the point that collectors quickly become bored of the idea. One such recent idea is the Topps silk card. It’s the second Evan Longoria silk card in my collection. I bought this one, from 2009 Topps Series 1 and numbered 10/50, almost a year ago:. My first box of 2010 Topps Heritage. On Tuesday, February...

Fielder's Choice Blog. February 19, 2010 at 12:11 am Posted in Uncategorized. With all of the praise that I’m heaping upon Masterpieces, I suppose it’ll come as no surprise that my Evan Longoria Masterpieces cards are some of my favorite cards in my collection. Here’s what I have so far:. Up top is the base card, which was pretty easy for me to acquire, even though I managed to not pull any Longoria cards in the two hobby boxes of 2008 Masterpieces that I busted in the fall of 2008. A few weeks ago, for ...

Fielder's Choice Blog. A Topps redemption story with a happy ending. December 20, 2008 at 2:30 am Posted in My Cards. That Mario from Wax Heaven has had with a Topps redemption that he’s been waiting more than a year to receive. Well, at least I can share one happy story about a Topps redemption. If you saw my Heritage High Numbers hobby box break. There’s no way that I can complain about a turnaround time of only 12 days for this card! Does Topps outsource its redemption program to Tristar, or is this j...

Fielder's Choice Blog. Making a mockery of Upper Deck Documentary. January 16, 2009 at 2:15 am Posted in My Cards. Back when Upper Deck Documentary was announced this past summer, I was cautiously optimistic about it. Here’s my post. Use a picture from the actual game on the front of the card. I don’t want to see the same pictures on multiple cards like the Yankee Stadium Legacy cards. Show the box score and a short summary of the game on the back of the card. Pictures for each card.
