یکی از راحتترین راههای بدست آوردن وزن متناسب ، این است که قد خود را بر حسب سانتی متر بدست آورده و عدد 100 را از آن کم کنید . به طور مثال شخصی که 168 سانتی متر قد دارد ، باید وزنی در حدود 68 کیلو گرم داشته باشد البته خانمها باید حدود 4 تا 6 کیلوگرم از این عدد کم کنند پس خانمی که 168 سانتی متر قد دارد باید وزنی در حدود 62 الی 64 کیلو گرم داشته باشد. روش دیگر استفاده از فرمول. باید عددی بین 20 تا 25 باشد اگر این مقدار از 25 بیشتر بود نشان دهنده ی اضافه وزن است و اگر از 20 کمتر بود نشان دهنده ی کاهش وزن است.
