Flight Level: Lights Out

http://flightlevel390.blogspot.com/2007/02/lights-out.html

America from the flight deck - Flight Level 390. I picked up the public address handset and was about to relay this information to the passengers when the APU died; no faults, alarms, or warnings. It just quit running. Our world was plunged into darkness and silence. All the Star Trek stuff said "See ya! Immediately, looking at the co-pilot, I said, "What did you do? I didn't do anything," he replied. "I didn't touch anything, it just quit! Thank you little APU! At 170 mph (147 knots) the nose lifted off...

Flight Level: Trip Trade

http://flightlevel390.blogspot.com/2005/04/trip-trade.html

America from the flight deck - Flight Level 390. My airline has scheduling software that will allow pilots to trade trips within certain parameters, so I posted one of my trips, with two very early morning departures, on the trade board. Sure enough, another Captain wanted my trip over his assigned trip. I was ecstatic to dump 3:00 am get ups. I have flown the vampire schedule for too many years and have become accustomed to night flying. Posted by Captain Dave at 10:32 PM.

Flight Level: Elevator to Heaven

http://flightlevel390.blogspot.com/2011/12/elevator-to-heaven.html

America from the flight deck - Flight Level 390. Position: Fifty miles southeast of KOAK (Oakland). Altitude: 18,000 feet and climbing. Rate-of-climb: 2,800 fpm. It has been one of those weeks. Juggling a heavy flight schedule with family matters taking place away from the domicile. I am glad to be back in the cockpit where I am in control, more or less. The ascension feels good to these old bones! After clearing inbound SFO traffic, our 319 is climbing to the thin air like an elevator to heaven. I am ha...

Flight Level 180: 02/01/2010 - 03/01/2010

http://flightlevel180.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

I have soared amongst the birds. Today, I was looking through my files and realized that I have signed off 10 students in the last 2 years. Of which 9 passed on the first try! I feel pretty good :). Plus I've signed off another 11 students for solo (some of which passed with other instructors). Seems that LORAN is no more. As someone who has used LORAN in the aviation world, I say it will be missed. Yes, it was inaccurate and outdated but it was the emergency backup system. A: An automated weather station.

Flight Level 180: 05/01/2008 - 06/01/2008

http://flightlevel180.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

I have soared amongst the birds. A few people know it, but I'm not the first pilot in my family. The first pilot title in my family goes to Grand Uncle Guido. He was an instructor for the AAF before and during WW2. Sadly, he died on duty during 1944 near Independence, KS due to a crash shortly around D-Day along with another pilot. From what I've put together, he and a buddy were flying at night during a cross country flight for the weekend and hit a mountain (but in Independence, KS? First, do some rese...

The Jackson Blog: Meet Bob

http://jacksondotcom.blogspot.com/2008/01/meet-bob.html

Monday, January 14, 2008. It's not all that easy to tell in these pictures, but the child cut off 14 INCHES of her hair! That is a lot of hair. We are donating it, in pony tail form, to 'locks-of-love'. I should of got some pictures of the back of it, but I failed to do so. It's actually very cute. It's a cross between Victoria Beckham. And Katie Holmes. And, the child loves it! I hope you enjoy. The address is http:/ home-theater-brasil.blogspot.com. A hug. April 8, 2008 at 12:24 PM. So where do I start?

The Jackson Blog: September 2007

Thursday, September 27, 2007. Me VS The Homeowners Association. This is the tree in my front yard. Glorious, isn't it? It's a flowering plum. Obviously, there is nothing 'flowering' about it. As you can well see, it is dead, dead, dead. "Why don't you remove it from your yard? One might ask. Well, let me tell you! Where I live, there is a *&% $# Homeowners Association. If you've never been a part of one of these, DON'T! Sure does. Here comes the VERSES part. Yellow, though you can't see it in this photo&...

Skip to search - Accesskey = s. You Got to Be Kidding Me! Got A Better Idea? By Stacy McMahon on February 10, 2009. The new US Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner, announced his reworked financial-sector bailout plan. Today, with the main headline being its projected $1 trillion price tag. In case you’re still keeping track, we are now at a minimum, conservatively, of $2.3 trillion. Just in the past two months. For the various bailout plans. That’s for houses that actually sell, so it’s likely a...While exp...

http://berthelotulm.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

C172 Heavy: My first solo pt.2

http://c172-h.blogspot.com/2010/03/my-first-solo-pt2.html

The day to day life of a young pilot working towards an airline career. Sunday, March 21, 2010. My first solo pt.2. I request a full stop landing so I can get out of the airplane, and we’re cleared to land. Just then the 152 calls ready for circuits- her first solo flight. Nice- two first solos will be in the pattern at once- just what the controllers wanted at 8am. 8221; I say out loud. We’ll need to have a chat when I get back in the airplane. We get back to the flight school, and I start the first sol...

C172 Heavy: Who knows better?

http://c172-h.blogspot.com/2010/05/who-knows-better.html

The day to day life of a young pilot working towards an airline career. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Back in my day, things were different…. No CFI is going to solo a student before he or she is ready because the student’s safety is our main concern. If a student thinks he knows better than the CFI, why waste the CFI’s time? Why not just sign his own logbook? 06 May, 2010 22:11. Dont tell him if hes ready or not, he knows! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Nie dość że w czasach kiedy zdecydował się na ten niezwykły lot mógł zostać bezproblemowo zestrzelony w powietrzu, to jeszcze stosunek władz Związku Radzieckiego do jakichkolwiek występków jest wszystkim znany.
