Mirrored Balance: July 2013
http://mirroredbalance.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 18 July 2013. Sitting on my hands and keeping my mouth firmly shut is a prayer? I am in the middle of a steep learning curve. I am learning to breathe gently, sit still silently and wait in such circumstances. Such waiting certainly doesn't come naturally to me but this morning it seemed a form of loving contemplative prayer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. David Michie be better. About this working girl. Your degree might be worth 540,000. Back to reality with a thump-ing large debt →. April 21, 2011. I’m writing this already angry as I’m in my first day of going cold turkey on the cigarettes for the second time in 2 years, so forgive me if I rage. Today the government ‘announced’ how many people are on incapacity benefit and its successor because of drug and alcohol addiction or obesity. A choice, really? You think alcoholics choose to be alcoholics? You think people choose sept...

About this working girl. Now we can really fuck over the poor! Unemployment – the tip of the iceberg. February 16, 2012. Busting a groove here after a looooong absence to point people towards today’s Guardian Reality Check. On unemployment stats. They’ve totted up those who want to work full time but who aren’t on Job Seeker’s Allowance for whatever reason, and added it to the enormous already figure of 2.67 million unemployed. It makes 6.9 million unemployed people. There are 476,000 vacancies. It'...

Mirrored Balance: October 2012
http://mirroredbalance.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 October 2012. My mothers garden is looking terrific and my amateurish photographs do not do justice to it. To me it just goes to show how important love and faithfulness is. Even plants and gardens absolutely flourish under a faithful, loving hand. Monday, 15 October 2012. Last night we had our first rain of the season. Up and down the road people could be heard celebrating the rain. Children went late to bed but on the night of the first rains of the season that's ok. Sunday, 14 October 2012.

Mirrored Balance: Palm Sunday
http://mirroredbalance.blogspot.com/2013/03/palm-sunday.html
Sunday, 24 March 2013. I was asked to be part of the team who was reading the Gospel this morning. I usually get the crowd or one of the smaller parts and I wasn't expecting today to be any different. I protested in shock that I couldn't do this. Why not? I didn't really have a good answer except that a woman Jesus seemed a bit odd. Crisply I was told that I was exactly what he wanted for the job so would I please just get on with it. 24 March 2013 at 14:52. How glorious that this was your invitation!

Mirrored Balance: June 2012
http://mirroredbalance.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 June 2012. It was warm in even in the pre dawn morning. So warm that I couldn't resist going outdoors just to be outside barefoot. And what a wonderful morning it was. I was pulled out of my ordinary self into another place of possibility where misery and sadness recede and joy colours the world. And even briefly this glorious morning I was given grace to allow joy space in my sometimes tortured life. Thursday, 21 June 2012. Tuesday, 19 June 2012. Now I know why Paul often used this greeting.

About this working girl. Now we can really fuck over the poor! Back to reality with a thump-ing large debt. June 20, 2011. Wow, two months, no post? I can only blame my job. This Working Girl has to work, you know! According to the press release. A sixth of graduates think that they’ll earn 100,000 by the time they are 30. The reality: 77% of graduates from 2000-2010 earn less than 30,000. You have a job to do, dammit! Starting on 18,000 at 21/22 years old, maybe moving jobs or getting a pay raise to 21,...

About this working girl. Back to reality with a thump-ing large debt. Unemployment – the tip of the iceberg →. Now we can really fuck over the poor! October 5, 2011. The Tory’s desire to screw employees is really gathering momentum. Not only are they making it fair to essentially discriminate, harass and otherwise behave badly towards employees with less than 2 year’s service, they are now charging employees to take their employers to court. A lose/lose situation all round then. Thanks Tories! Posts of r...
