Clockjack – Rotisserie Chicken in the heart of Piccadilly | Foodie Claire
https://foodieclaire.wordpress.com/2015/06/21/clockjack-chicken-restaurant-review-denman-street-piccadilly
A little blog about food, restaurants and drinking by an Essex Girl. Clockjack – Rotisserie Chicken in the heart of Piccadilly. I recently visited Clockjack on behalf of tastecard to sample review, on a day when I was hot-desking in London and wanted a tasty but healthy lunch which would give me energy for my gym session I had planned for the evening. Clockjack fitted the bill as it’s extremely rare that you find chicken that has been cooked in such a healthy manner. Such as the wings WOW the wings. ...

A little blog about food, restaurants and drinking by an Essex Girl. Barbican Lounge Lunch – Hidden Gem amongst Brutalist Beast. It’s all been a bit quiet on the tastecard front recently. Work, life and finding nice places to visit has been a slight challenge – but I had a nice treat a couple of weeks ago when I took my key agency contact out for lunch around the corner from her office. Would you consider eating there? Busy lunch time at Barbican Lounge. When deciding whether to sit in or outside we disc...

A little blog about food, restaurants and drinking by an Essex Girl. Cristina’s Restaurant – The Best Steak in Barking. To this day I always say “if only you could pick up your house and move it to your ideal area”. The same could be applied to restaurants in some cases. I was extremely fortunate to visit, as was my friend who had not been to a steak house before. We were particularly curious about it being a “Romanian steakhouse” as neither of us had heard of that concept before. Soups, cabbage, sauerkr...

His and her incredible eating adventures. August 22, 2013. He recently passed the ‘Life in the UK test’ at the Islington centre with flying colours, so what finer way to celebrate than with a moreish lunch at Morito! The nice thing about Morito is that all dishes on the menu are designed to be shared, meaning that we can try a lot more food between the two of us! The spiced lamb, aubergine, yoghurt and pine nuts was probably one of my favourite dishes – could do with a few servings of this. The...The tex...

His and her incredible eating adventures. Make: almond vanilla bean pannacotta. April 9, 2012. Tip of the day:. We practiced the night before to ensure the consistency of our panna cotta was just right. Silicon muffin trays make great ramikins for this, as they pop straight out of the mould! VANILLA BEAN PANNA COTTA (Serves 6). 1 1/2 cups (375ml) cream. 1 1/2 cups (375ml) milk. 1 vanilla bean pod. 1 tsp of almond essence. 1/2 cup (115g) caster sugar. 2 1/2 tsp gelatine powder. Lightly oil 6 x 1/2 cup (12...

His and her incredible eating adventures. March 13, 2013. As part of our series on what you can do about food waste, in this article we look at the food supply chain and volunteering. What happens to food that gets unsold at grocery stores? In some grocery stores they sell some of these items at a discount, but what happens to the rest? Whether it’s one or one hundred people that you might help out, a small gesture can make a big difference. More pumpkin/squash seed pics. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

His and her incredible eating adventures. July 27, 2013. When she asked me if I wanted to eat at restaurant that was modelling their menu after Wes Anderson movies, I was like YES! I love the move “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” (there must be something with the clay animation dancing. I picked “The Foxy doughnut” as my starter – it was not as light and fluffy as we would have liked but the chicken pate works really well with the Granny smith apples and beetroot puree. Let’s continue the Expedition onto th...

His and her incredible eating adventures. April 24, 2014. It’s a great day when the sun is shining in London. It’s also even rarer for both of us to be working from home on the same day. Today we decided to head out to lunch together at the Kerb market. Because we never had the chance to go to Kings Cross for lunch before. Today the vendors available were Spit and Roast. And Miss P’s Barbeque. We decided to go to Mother Flipper and Crabbieshack. Granary Square, King’s Cross, London. You are commenting us...
make: beef carpaccio | love2feed
https://love2feed.wordpress.com/2012/04/16/make-beef-carpaccio
His and her incredible eating adventures. April 16, 2012. Raw beef. It is beef at it’s finest, when served right it is soft and it just melts in your mouth. When I was aged 10-12 my cousins from France came by and made this meal for me. I had raw beef before bo tai chanh (Vietnamese beef carpaccio). Slice the beef into thin, sheets. If filet steak is too expensive using beef tenderloin is fine. Basically you are looking for lean beef. Place the beef on an oven proof plate. Tip of the day. If you don̵...

His and her incredible eating adventures. Drink: mayor of scaredy cat town. April 23, 2014. What is in the fridge? How about all that and then some more? Welcome to the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. Behind a secret door in the Breakfast Club in Aldgate is where the Mayor lives. We took some friends who were in town to grab a few cocktails. You should try to get a reservation because the space is limited. Who doesn’t like a nice cocktail bar? From the entrance, service and drinks, this place is a winner....
make: kimchi cauliflower rice | love2feed
https://love2feed.wordpress.com/2013/11/12/make-kimchi-cauliflower-rice
His and her incredible eating adventures. Make: kimchi cauliflower rice. November 12, 2013. Recently we have been trying out a diet called the paleo diet. The idea is to eat what cavemen ate, for us we took that to mean eating real food with no carbs coming from grains. However growing up with carbs such as rice and noodles, one does miss the occasional carb side dish. Can you have the best of both worlds? Inspiration for cauliflower rice came from a recipe from nom nom paleo. 1 tablespoon of fish sauce.

His and her incredible eating adventures. October 22, 2013. It was a Sunday grey afternoon in London (what’s new, eh? We were walking towards Old Street as it started to bucket down with rain. Pelting rain plus the shivery cold weather dampened the spirits. That’s when we saw a little flicker of hope… the brightly lit sign, “Coffee for the cold, Cocktails for the soul”. We stepped in and felt a warmth in the air. 213 Old St, The City, London EC1V 9NR. Website: http:/ www.shoreditchgrind.com/. You are com...

Foodie Claire | A little blog about food, restaurants and drinking by an Essex Girl
A little blog about food, restaurants and drinking by an Essex Girl. Christmas in July at Carluccio’s – St. Christopher’s Place, London. The Imperial, Kings Road, Fulham London. My latest tastecard adventures took me to a part of London that I am not too familiar with. Kings Road, Fulham. Or The Kings Road as it’s fondly known as. What perception is conjured up by Kings Road? Well, it was famous in the 1960’s for style icons Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. Tags: eco chic restaurants. My tastecard ...
