October 5, 2011. Here we go again. Goodmorning and Welcome Back,. Another adventure is about to take flight in my life, and I hope you all are as excited about the unknown as I. Footprints: HA NOI?

http://www.footprintsofathena.blogspot.com/2009/11/ha-noi.html

November 13, 2009. Northern Vietnam is just as full of people trying to sell shit and car exhuast as the Southern half, but at least here the heat isn't attempting to kill us. I always wanted to be in a random family album. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). August 14, 2009. The average American walks 5,210 steps in her day: 1,901,650 a year. How many of my less then two millions steps this year retraced the same path that I created last year?

October 27, 2009. October 21, 2009. Phnom Phen, Cambodia. This post is not for Grace to read. I hate to end this post without a happy ending, some small humorous moment to lighten the mood, but that is not what days like today are for, and I encourage everyone to spend a few minutes looking up "Khmer Rouge'" and "Choeung Ek" online to better understand. October 18, 2009. Siem Reap, Cambodia. Where do I begin? The Cambodian Consulate Visa Scam? Mr Vina the Tuk-Tuk driver? The guesthouse we are staying at ...

September 13, 2009. Off to the Grand! Today is the day! Gordy and I leave in a few hours for Flagstaff, where we will meet up with the rest of the party tomorrow. This will be my last post until after the Grand Canyon. Next time I write, Lava Falls will have been conquered by yours truly. September 12, 2009. Talk with you all soon. PS I have received my Pentax Optio W80 and it is AMAZING. Expect photo uploads as soon as I figure out how to work it. Mom: "I'll have the pancakes". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

November 21, 2009. This place is beautiful, but expensive- thus minimal posting during my time here. We are heading up to Lam Na Tha, Loas for a few days. Hopefully stumble upon some nice treks and non-touristy areas. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). August 14, 2009. The Side Trips: October 2009

http://thesidetrips.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

The View From Here. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. So, how time flies when you are on the move. The last few weeks have been, well.filled. Our trip has finally taken shape and has become it's own monster. I've seemingly been lost in the hussle and bussle and now look up two weeks later realizing that I have not told any of our adventures. So here is an update. Athena and I spent the next few days exploring the temples of Angkor and the overpriced tourist hub of Siem Reap. Exploring the temples was incr...

The Side Trips: Chile: Week 1

http://thesidetrips.blogspot.com/2011/11/chile-week-1.html

The View From Here. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. This is what we came for.well maybe the ones under 100 meters tall. That's a nice surf-ski you have. First moments in Santiago. Packing up the Delica. Baer and Wes getting ready to put there cash down for the Delica. Too bad it's real money. Typical bland Chilean countryside. After a few km of some rocky road, we stopped and unloaded for the run. First test of the Delica on the roads to the Claro. Getting ready to drop into the canyon. View from the take-out.

The Side Trips: January 2012

http://thesidetrips.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

The View From Here. Thursday, January 19, 2012. Sunset with Volcano Villarrica. The season here in Chile has been dry. We showed up to Pucon just as the last bit of water was draining from the “Classics”. The Rio Nevados, running mostly on rain through December, left us with just a taste of its amazing canyons before it dropped below boatable levels. Many other creeks and rivers have fallen victim to a light snow pack and no rain. One of many flats on our roadtrips. View from the road to the Fuy.

The Side Trips: Chilean Mis-Adventure Part 1

http://thesidetrips.blogspot.com/2011/12/chilean-mis-adventure-part-1.html

The View From Here. Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Chilean Mis-Adventure Part 1. Sunrise on the Side of the road. Instead, our road trip ended abruptly when the van suddenly died while climbing a hill about 20 km outside the little town of Molina. With the van overheating and our nerves shot we crashed on the side of the road with plans to limp the van into town the next day. The Push Back to Town:. Sun burning off the early morning mist. With no luck. We ended up pushing the van for several km and then ...

The View From Here. Friday, December 23, 2011. Chilean Misadventure Part 2:. The Delica's last ride. We spent the remainder of the day trying to formulate an escape route from the van. We had all come to terms with the fact that the van was dead and the money that we had spent on it would most likely never be seen again. But we had one small problem…What should we do with it now? We woke early on Monday morning and prepared the van for the tow. We were finally going to be free of this thing! Working with...

The View From Here. Sunday, September 13, 2009. After months of planning and way too much packing, the day has finally come to leave the home base of my parents' house. These last few days have given me a chance to tie up loose ends and get some much needed rest. The next 3 months will be filled with new experiences and hopefully some good pictures! The Side Trips: Music Pass/Sand Dunes Hike

http://thesidetrips.blogspot.com/2011/11/music-passsand-dunes-hike.html

The View From Here. Friday, November 11, 2011. Music Pass/Sand Dunes Hike. Where are we again? Soon after we bragged to our friends about our sweet fall hiking trip it snowed above 10,000 ft. We re-evaluated. Did we want to spend 10 days hiking in snow? We left early in the morning of September 25. Looking South from the top of Music Pass-Overlooking our route. Nice meandering trail through Aspens. We stopped and camped about 7 miles from the pass, meeting our mileage goal. Camp 1: Cheffin it up. Althoug...

Our journey of adding to our family by adoption from Taiwan. Saturday, June 18, 2011. This coming week we will be celebrating Micah's one year gotcha day. Footprints Of an Alien | Journey of an alien from yesterday to tomorrow

Footprints Of an Alien. Journey of an alien from yesterday to tomorrow. Bull;May 25, 2010 • 7 Comments. The room was dark as dark could be. But filled with hope and no dearth of glee. The air so clean so untouched and free. Where was I is wat troubled me. There were no walls nor beautiful drapes. T’was just closed with wide open gates. How could it be? From my mind it escapes. So I follow my nose to see where it takes. All I could see was food n a bed,. Still I had no clue where the room led. Why didn&#8...
