Aiyer International: Rendezvous in Paris
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015/06/rendezvous-in-paris.html
Wednesday, 24 June 2015. We did a last minute trip to Paris this past weekend, and I'm so glad we did. Ram has been traveling to several different countries since last Sunday and heading his first road show. His boss and other colleagues joined him on this trip. It is a huge milestone for him and I'm so proud of him and happy he got one under his belt:). We arrived Saturday afternoon and after Riya's nap, we decided to just walk around. Our hotel was walking distance to the Galleries Lafayette, so we...

Aiyer International: October 2014
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 20 October 2014. I decided to start an evening book club so that I have another excuse to have a night out:) The first book we read was "Bringing up Bebe" by Pamela Druckerman. My friend Laine had high praises of this book and I was particularly drawn to it because it's about a New Yorker who married a Brit and they moved to Paris to raise a family. Did you know that if a toddler doesn't say "Bonjour" to another adult, it's socially unacceptable? I sometimes feel like a fish out of water raising ...

Aiyer International: July 2015
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 July 2015. NHS versus the World. There is no way we would have had that luck in the U.S. The UK's healthcare, known as the National Health Service (NHS), is funded by taxes and available to all at no cost. Now free healthcare sounds and is. Since I've had a baby under the Dubai healthcare system and will now have one under NHS, I thought it would be fun to compare the two experiences:). Needless to say in Dubai, they had no issues picking up the phone and sending you email/text. I don't unde...

Aiyer International: May 2015
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 May 2015. It's the simple things in life. Sorry I have been MIA for so long! Didn't realize its been almost a month now since my last post. We are finally settled and alas the routine of life has finally crept in and taken over. I'll never get in. I'm still waiting to hear back though.it's only been a week. Alright, enough about that. I promise to be more upbeat in my next entry:). Friday, 1 May 2015. Starting over.yet again. As a mom, it goes beyond that. Does she have kids Riya's age?

Aiyer International: Dinerama
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015/07/dinerama.html
Monday, 20 July 2015. Summertime in London is so eventful. Its all about rooftop gardens, beer gardens, festivals/concerts, hot tub cinema (? Picnics in the park and street feasts to name a few. When my friend Debbie suggested we check out Dinerama. As an alternative to a sit down dinner for out next outing, we were pumped. Can't say no to checking out a bunch of pop up restaurant food all in one place! The first 3 pictures are courtesy of Debbie:). 24 July 2015 at 13:39. What a fun time! Ireland Road Tr...

Aiyer International: March 2015
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 March 2015. Hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day! There was a parade in Trafalgar Square on Sunday but it didn't start until noon, which is Riya's nap time. And I figured by the time she wakes up and we get there it will be too much of an adult party. So we skipped it. On the actual day I booked us tickets to visit one of London's newest skyscrapers, 20 Fenchurch Street aka The Walkie Talkie. Why is it nicknamed the Walkie Talkie? Well thats because it kind of looks like one:. As we a...

Aiyer International: The 6 Month Mark
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-6-month-mark.html
Friday, 12 June 2015. The 6 Month Mark. Saturday officially marks 6 months here in London. Where did the time go? Dubai is still quite fresh in our memories, though we are definitely not missing the 120 degree heat wave they are experiencing now. Sometimes it seems very discouraging, but I've felt that way before and things always change for the better. So I'm hanging in there! Well its bright and sunny and dare I say approaching HOT, so time to go outside and play! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Aiyer International: February 2015
http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 February 2015. We are at the lovely phase in my 17month old's life where she is refusing her second nap 50% of the time. All signs point to transitioning her to one nap. However, she is still displaying all the signs of teething and though I don't see those. Bottom teething coming, I don't have the heart to mess with her schedule right now. She's going through enough. Later in the day, she finally got into it. On a high, I decided to make a lacing toy for her. Lacing is one way to pract...

http://aiyerinternational.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 24 July 2014. Ramadan, take two. This year we decided to stay in town during Ramadan despite my fear that I would rack up fines left and right. Ramadan began at the end of June (we're in the home stretch now! Every year it moves up a week or two but it always lasts 30 days. I was quite nervous going into Ramadan this year. Dubai by no means is the strictest of the cities, but they definitely take the holy month seriously and expect everyone to do the same, whether you are fasting or not. Every ...

My year in Denmark!
My year in Denmark! We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths ` - Walt Disney. Tuesday, 13 December 2011. However, while I think I am finally in a place where I can say that I have moved on, I know that I will never move past Denmark. Because, how can I? My exchange is in the past, but the people I love will never be behind me. People ask me if I knew way back then where I would be right now, what I would be facing...
