From the Short Stacks

From the Short Stacks. All about literacy, but not all about literacy. Aug 3, 2015. Picture Book Organization- Nature. Nature seemed like a natural category to have, with seasons and weather. I ended up with a few other subcategories. I ended up splitting food and plants up. Pizza isn't really a plant, but it is from nature, so. . . food! Creepy carrots could go in either, but since it wasn't really about growing carrots, and more about eating carrots it ended up in NATURE FOOD REYNOLDS. Jun 24, 2015.

It is so exciting to see all the passion about early literacy across the country. Congratulations to all on their programs! I am not sure why some of the pegs are pink and some are blue, if anyone would care to enlighten me :). Mar 17, 2014. Honey, What are The Neighbors Reading? From the Short Stacks. All about literacy, but not all about literacy. May 22, 2015. I used the fabulous library hero signs created on the Hafuboti. Mini Candy Bar Wrappers. If you want to print them for yourself, you will have to download them as a PDF. For it to print correctly, I'm not sure what's up with that. But these are going to make SWEET prizes at our SRP Kick Off Carnival! Also, if you want some Super Awesome Capes to jazz up your suckers, check out this Blog. Let the Summer Begin!

Friday, January 30, 2015. Flannel Friday: Bear's Picture. This flannel story is loosely based on Frank Asch's Bread and Honey. But I have changed it a little bit to make it a more dramatic flannelboard. (See notes at the end). One day at school, Bear painted a picture of his mother. He gave her a nice round bear face, a short bear neck, two little bear eyes, some friendly bear eyes, a little bear nose, and a sweet bear smile. (I put on the pieces as I say each piece). Owl thinks the eyes are too small.

http://lalalalibrary.blogspot.com/2015/08/flannel-friday-placeholder.html

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Are you planning your fall storytimes? Well, strap yourself in because this week's round-up is going to make at least one of those storytimes a breeze. Ready? Ok, here we go. First off, we have Danielle at Library Danielle. Who has ducks, frogs, and a lovely flannel to go along with Little White Duck. Why do good books go out of print? This is the question we all ask ourselves when we see a super-cute flannel that we now want to make.). Mel, over at Mel's Desk. Or on the blog.

While Summer may be winding down, there are many weeks ahead to enjoy dining and entertaining outdoors. We are in the midst of planning our clambake (or seafood boil). I keep an ongoing list especially the days before to ensure a smooth party day. Paper towels are obviously a priority for this particular party :). Beach time may be winding down for the Summer but we intend to make the most of it! Here are a few of our favorites for a long day in the sun. Labels: products we love.

Its simple, really. I blog to connect with others. Is anybody still out there? I don’t blame you. Well, my personal blog has really turned to mush. Rarely updated, non-conversation starters, entirely too serious most days or simply a “life update” on others. This is exactly what I didn’t want my blog to become so…. I’m switching off for awhile. Signing off, ta-ta for now! Guys, I normally don't post this kind of stuff - but after months of instagram.com/p/BggqTG5j7l1v. What do we want? When do we want it?
