Chess Moves: On My Great Dumb Moves
http://chessmoves.blogspot.com/2006/12/on-my-great-dumb-moves.html
One person's short journey into the world of Australian chess. Saturday, December 23, 2006. On My Great Dumb Moves. Now I realised I well and truly, ahem, am bad in chess. On Monday, I went along to a Chess Club with my favorite older brother-in-law in tow, played a cute small tournament with 2 players on each side of the board and making alternate moves? How did I do? My team-mate looked at me and said,"Bishop? Hanging on h4), I replied,"Yup. I know.". See diagram on right. I played. I still can't belie...

Bishops move on diagonals. One bishop starts on the red squares and the other bishop starts on the black squares. So whichever color the bishop starts on, it must stay on that color for the entire game. Bishops can move any number of squares in a turn as long as they don't run off the board. An Experiment in Rapid Chess Improvement. Record of my experience in undertaking Michael de la Maza's "Rapid Chess Improvement" program. Friday, May 05, 2006. My First Tournament - Results. I finished my first tournament last weekend, the Austin Chess Club. I think I learned a lot, so it was a good experience. Feel free to check out the games. I'm not happy with all my notes on them yet, but I figured if I waited to finish them before posting the games I would never get around to it. King of the Spill.

PlasticBishop.com Blog: The Fox Trips Over
http://plasticbishop.blogspot.com/2006/04/fox-trips-over.html
The inner programming thoughts of the creator of www.plasticbishop.com. Friday, April 07, 2006. The Fox Trips Over. No, I'm not talking in some strange cryptic speak, but I'm actually referring to Firefox and in particular 1.0.7. Firefox is my web browser of choice because it looks good, has some fantastic extensions, and does a decent job of rendering pages (but not the best though - Opera has that honour in my opinion). So where does good old Firefox trip over? Posted by Stephen Robson @ 12:07 pm.

phorku's chess blog: What's the plan?
http://phorku.blogspot.com/2008/05/whats-plan.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2008. So what is the plan in this position. I worked hard to get a good bishop, pawn structure, space and opponents passive pieces. Isn't a B vs N endgame with pawns on both sides of the board better for the B (or is that only when the rooks are off too)? Couldn't do a thing with it. I evaluated this position with me having the significant advantage. Crafty has us nearly equal. This game showed me if you can't evaluate who has the better position your play will suffer. Labels: B vs N.
