The Shy Knitter: March 2007
http://shyknitter.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 03, 2007. Just going to have a look . Going to an art gallery can be much like going to a yarn shop. I am just going to look, one will convince oneself. As they go in, but once inside the door it is all whole different matter completely. Case in point, Doris McCarthy. The Group of Seven. And others.). What sets her apart is that she is her work is still affordable, mainly because she is still alive. Last year we didn't go to her gallery opening. Perhaps the extravagance. This year, she ha...

The Shy Knitter: October 2006
http://shyknitter.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 29, 2006. Mighty, mighty yarn-a-vor! Here I am, intrepid traveler before setting out (at 7:30 Saturday morning) for the 3rd TTC Knit-a-long. Part of this trip's gear is my 'Campfire scarf' made from Artfibers. We decided sometime ago, that if we were ever to do another social knitting thing, we better have some name tags (as we tend to be a bit, shy). So here is mine, Eden did a much more festive one appropriate to the upcoming Halloween holiday. Explain it. There was buzz that she co...

The Shy Knitter: July 2006

Sunday, July 16, 2006. Knitting bee . or a bee in my bonnet. Saturday was such a lovely day. My family got together to celebrate my father's 85th birthday, which is a milestone in itself, but follows on the heals of my parent's 60th wedding anniversary, my mother's 80th birthday and my own 40th birthday. My family has many talented people in it. The first picture shows my dad holding up a card given to him by my cousin Sandy, who. Posted by shyknitter @ 9:42 PM. Wednesday, July 12, 2006. This, believe it...

The Shy Knitter: February 2007

Sunday, February 04, 2007. Brioche and bitter cold. Saturday night was different from most. Eden and her husband Mike asked Heather and I out for dinner (which wasn't so unusual) and then to a belly dancing. Which is unusual). The idea is to have belly dancers. Performing to rock, and there was a wide spectrum of styles from Scandinavian. To more mature women with bodies that had gone through a bit of living. All of them were graceful, all of them were lovely. The tattoos. I am happy, if not ecstatic.

The Shy Knitter: December 2006

Wednesday, December 27, 2006. Mrs Claus must do the knitting. I say this as I was Heather's Mrs. Claus this year, and knit her this cozy/warm hat. It was a. Very nice Christmas over all. No snow, it was terribly green. But it was good to have family together, had a wonderful organic turkey for dinner with Jennifer's famous roasted veggies, and the obligatory Christmas pudding. I managed somehow not to over eat, and got a tremendous amount of knitting done. Currently, I am working on the Shimmer shrug.

The Shy Knitter: January 2007

Monday, January 29, 2007. Where art thou oh Noro. Well, you know I have told you about my exploits with Eden on the day after Boxing Day yarn shopping? One of my acquisitions was 3 skeins of Noro. Silk Garden (16C) at 25% off. I thought it would be sufficient for a vest, but a few weeks after I started I quickly realized it would take a fourth. The problem of matching colours up, but made the colour changes much longer. 160 sts. It is a bit tight on me (incentive to loose more weight) but it looks great ...

Sunday, July 29, 2007. Reunited, and it feels so good. We haven't heard from our friends Kevin and Robert for almost four years. A tragic misunderstanding would have made that a permanent seperation. If it wasn't for a strange series of events. Happily, we have reconnected and it feels very much like nothing. Has changed at all. Years (it was the best of times, it was the worst of times). I meet Heather at the end of that time (when I was 29) and Rob and Kevin sold the house shortly therafter. On Friday ...

The Shy Knitter: September 2006
http://shyknitter.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 24, 2006. Being a knitter, is it nurture or nature? In my case, it is nature. My mother is a long time knitter (as she turned 80 this year, she has been probably knitting at least 75 years), as was my grandmother (who I never knew as she died when my mother was 18). I went out to Guelph for the day to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday, and thought it would be a good opportunity to talk about my mother's knitting. Have been simple but lovely. Who sells real estate if you are looking...

The Shy Knitter: June 2007
http://shyknitter.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 18, 2007. This is what we call the puppers. Heather and I went to have dinner at Karen and Vic's yesterday, and I was able to give the puppers. Or finger puppets I have been making for their son Jordin. He was a bit shy but did warm up to us by the end of the evening (Heather also brought him a key chain with an OPP motorcycle floating about in a bubble.he was keen on that too). So here he is with Vic (Heather is just off camera) giving Karen and I a puppet show. We had other ' puppers.
