This month we ended our time serving with the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) as coordinators of the Refugee Project in the Mennonite Church of Quito, Ecuador. And, with this final reflection, we also close out our blog. Thanks for reading along! In the Refugee Project we sought simply to be there when the refugees arrived, to be witnesses of hospitality and to respond to their questions and needs best we could with the limited resources we had.

Not, sadly, a year full of blogging. I think I was just too busy. Highlights of 2013 for our family:. Kids starting preschool in February. And finishing their first year last Friday! We are 30 days from the new year, and I think it's time to resurrect my blog. 30 days ago, we marked 2 years in Colombia with MCC. The time has gone so fast, and the kids have grown so much. Valerie finished her first year in "big kids' school." I am so proud of her for facing a lot of fears, and learning so very much! We acquired two guinea pigs. More stories coming soon. I found the buttons at a going-out-of-business sale in Harrisonburg, which, while sad, also netted me some amazing deals. Silver lining.
