My Life. A little zen about things not zen. May 8, 2012. In Cool stuff in Japan. A quick stop for the Nagoya Belgian Beer Fest! At the beginning of Golden Week. The Japan Belgian Beer Fest made it’s stop in Nagoya, and after getting news from the previous night of my new employment, a little bit of celebration was in order. Nearly 100 beers, Belgian Frites and sausages, cheese, live music and good friends. Will be visiting again next year when they come through. That’s for sure! Laquo; Previous post.

Then, we'll try to beat the crap out of each other. Well, I'm exaggerating a bit but "grapple the crap out of each other" just doesn't have the same ring to it. It's unlikely anyone will get hurt because there is no striking in Brazilian Jiujitsu and many of the more dangerous moves (neck cranks, knee bars, heel hooks) are illegal. Run like a llama!

Sunday, July 1, 2012. A year of change. Next, I got an amazing opportunity for a new job, doing social media and PR work in the industry. It also meant shelving racing entirely, but it was a dream job, and I wasn't going to pass it up. One year later, I've been to Whistler twice, followed a major stage race in California, seen Austin, Philly, San Francisco, and had a beer with a Tour de France podium finisher. I'd say it was worth taking a break from racing. Next post: Finding cycling again.
