Well Timed Progress | George Carmichael
https://georgecarmichaelclimbing.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/well-timed-progress
March 2, 2015. Since my last post in November I have had 3 months of full commitment to training. My injury has completely gone and I am stronger than I’ve ever been. It feels great to finally be performing back near my max. The last few months have involved board sessions, power endurance circuits and the occasional comp. A video posted by George Carmichael (@climbercarmich) on. Feb 1, 2015 at 4:11am PST. After obsessing over this route for such a long time I am so happy it feels possible and I plan to ...
Hot Hot Hot! | George Carmichael

July 16, 2013. For me the route boils down to two really hard moves and the other moves are fine in comparison. When it cools down I aim to try Devolution first which does the crux move to the break then goes right up an easier finish at 8b which seems more manageable in the near future as I find the second crux move too hard at the moment to think about sticking it from the ground. Video of it below. Short Mecca Film from Patrick Taylor. Time Off →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Mecca – The Mid Study-Leave Crisis | George Carmichael
https://georgecarmichaelclimbing.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/mecca-the-mid-study-leave-crisis
Mecca – The Mid Study-Leave Crisis. May 10, 2013. Since getting back from Switzerland, i’ve been climbing outside as much possible. In the first weeks I focused on bouldering and did a few things like The Press (7B ) and Ben’s Roof Extension (8A). After this I turned my attention the the route Mecca-The Mid-Life Crisis, the classic f8b route at Raven Tor (of course! This can be seen in the video below! Easter in Chironico 2013. Short Mecca Film from Patrick Taylor →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are c...

Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Friday, 31 July 2015. Hajj and future projects. Hi folks I thought I would write a few words about my experiences on Hajj 8c at the Tor. A UKC Report. David Pett's Video 'The Outdoor Office Part 1' of Hajj. Video Still courtesy of Jon Clark - the crux of Hajj. So, what made the difference to doing Hajj in the end after trying it extensively last year? My own video of an attempt from last year. Also, I ...

Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Monday, 30 June 2014. Bat Route and Overjustified. For the past 3 months since coming back from Smith Rock, a large number of my climbing days at the weekends have been spent up at Malham getting stuck into 2 routes in particular, Bat Route and Unjustified. Having ticked Bat Route in May and Unjustfied on Sunday, I thought I would share my experiences of both for those who are interested. Now this rout...

Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Sunday, 27 April 2014. To Bolt or not to Be. I had written all of the moves down since the last trip (and obsessed over them in every waking moment! Crag scene - Greg, Tara and Andrew. A productive trip to Bishop ensued instead). A lonely place, the 10th bolt shake. Some different views of the Beast! Your support is greatly appreciated! So, how did the route go? First hard moves by the 3rd. I couldn't ...

Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Saturday, 22 June 2013. Well some of the dust has settled since I finally managed to complete the extension last sunday so now seems as good a time as any to set down some thoughts. Hopefully the following will cause others to get psyched and get out there to send some things at their personal limit! This might be a bit long for some tastes but if so, just skip to the last paragraph! Evening sessions a...

http://tedkingsnorth.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Sunday, 17 August 2014. I started trying Kaabah on the same day I clipped the chains of the Extension back in June last year. It felt like the logical next step to make use of the fitness gained in trying a similar route but even harder! The Mecca Crux (Video Still). Now just the link in of Mecca to go, easier said than done! It feels the easiest thing in the world just to grab the draw and give up!

Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Thursday, 26 March 2015. Bouldering in the Cave and thoughts on training. After getting back from Spain in January, it was time to focus on training in preparation for the forthcoming routes season. I have been listening to a few podcasts of late, in particular the excellent Training Beta podcasts https:/ www.trainingbeta.com/trainingbeta-podcast/. Working Lou Ferrigno V10 in the Cave. Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Saturday, 27 December 2014. Hajj attempts and new Mecca Linkup. The Crux move of Hajj (Photo: Jon Clark). Just past the crux on Mecca (Photo: Jon Clark). Mecca linkups and projects. As the end of the season approached, I wanted something to show for my efforts and on last session before the Works party, the Whore of Babylon link went down. Unfortunately (or fortunately! Ted Kingsnorth's climbing (Cover Photo - redpoint attempt on True North, July 2016 - Pic: Ramon Marin). Sunday, 9 February 2014. Unfinished Business and Training. The question is, where do you draw the line given the available resources you have in the form of time, motivation, strength and dry rock? Using this as inspiration I have tried to not be too bothered by unfinished routes, as long as the list doesn't get too long! I managed to knock a couple of long term projects off my list last year namely Fu...
