Our Trip to Cartersville and Lake Allatoona. We drove north from Atlanta to this small town where we saw an art show. After looking over the art and eating lunch we took a walk around the town visiting a couple of antique shops. This Hudson was parked outside one of the antique shops, it was not for sale. All of the was fun and good but we still did not fulfill my quest to find the Georgia peach trees. Back to Main Page.

Savannah and Tybee Island. These pictures were taken on our 3 day excursion to southeast Georgia. We traveled about 260 miles passing thru the city of Macon and past numerous cotton fields to this beautiful part of the country. While we were here we took a day trip to Tybee Island and we went on a ghost tour. We ate dinner at. The town has a historic preservation district that requires all businesses and new construction to fit the period. Back To Main Page.

Stone Mountain and Stone Mountain Park. The mountain is made of a giant granite rock that formed some 6 miles underground in the Appalachian Mountains 230 million years ago. After 230 million years of erosion the softer soils washed away leaving rock exposed. The top of the rock is 1686 feet above sea level standing 780 feet above the surrounding area. Stone Mountain Park is a state park with rides, shows and numerous camping and picknicing areas. Back to the Main Page. Ok where are the peach trees?

Chattanooga Tennessee, Ruby Falls, and the Inclined Railway. Today we drove north to Chattanooga to see an underground waterfall. Just outside of town is Lookout Mountain which towers (by east coast standards) some 2000 ft above the city. The waterfall is located inside a limestone cave about 1/2 of the way up the mountain. Some Stuff on the wall. About 120 ft Drop. North end of south bound donky. This is our guide, his name is Don and he is responsible for the bad jokes. More stuff on the wall.

Today we took a tour of the Dallas area. There is a lot of construction going on around here. We started with Dennis's street and then we went on to another development. We looked at a lot of homes, but we never did see any peach trees. What are they looking at? Terri checks out the house across the street. Other homes in the area. We drove a couple of miles to look at some. Homes in the 200 to 400 thousand dollars range. Back to the Main Page. Click a picture to view a larger image. We hit the road again.
