Ghost Effects Silicon Pep Box. A version of the WEM Rush Pep Box which was manufactured during 1966-1967. I borrowed a very rare original unit from Tim Felton (Broadcast/Seeland) to confirm the circuit and the component values for this pedal. Quite a full on classic trebly 1960s Garage fuzz sound to the Pep Box, with more subtle tones as you turn the 'Pep' down. I would describe the sound as having the rasp of a Maestro FZ-1 and the sustain of a Tone Bender MK1, but overall a more synthy sound than both.

Ghost Effects Aston Community Centre Treblebooster. Based on the classic Rangemaster circuit, the name is a nod to a famous Birmingham guitarist who allegedly used a modified Rangemaster in his early years of playing. The original 1960s units were amptop boxes with just a level control. For this version I added an input capacitor blend 'Tone' control, and added drop down resistors to help combat 'popping' when the circuit is switched in. Great for brightening up and pushing a dark sounding valve amp.

Ghost Effects Dizzy Tone. Based on the Italian Elka Dizzy Tone fuzz, a very similar circuit to the Burns Buzzaround but with a little more aggression. Controls are Attack (Timbre/Tone), Balance, and Sustain. I borrowed an original Dizzy Tone from a collector to confirm all of the component values in the circuit and to verify what one actually sounds like. The collector owns the first one I made and has compared it very favourably to a second original Dizzy Tone he owns, here are a few quotes from him.

Ghost Effects The Horn Treblebooster. Based on the John Hornby Skewes Treblebooster. The original 1960s units were amptop boxes with no level control. For this version I added an output capacitor blend 'Tone' control, and a level control. The circuit also has drop down resistors to help combat 'popping' when the circuit is switched in. Great for brightening up and pushing a dark sounding valve amp. I use a military spec CV7355 transistor which is high gain, low leakage, great for booster circuits.

Ghost Effects Lunar Incantation. Based on the Mosrite Fuzzrite with the addition of a 'Tone' control similar to the one on the Rosac Nu-Fuzz. Case designed by Mark Murph. PCB designed by Tim Cooper. Controls are Level, Depth (mixes between 2 gain stages in the circuit), and Tone (output capacitor blend but with more potential for bottom end than the Nu-Fuzz). Capable of more bassy tones than a Fuzzrite or Nu-Fuzz, but can still do trebly garage fuzz as well. Cases are powdercoated by Bournes.

Prototype for a screen printed run of a version of the Tone Bender mk1 circuit with an added 'drive' control. The extra control lets you back off the 'fizz' of the fuzz tone, back it off further and the mk1 turns into a dark fuzzy overdrive. Ghostee is a comic about little ghosts. They are not necessarily dead, nor the spirits of deceased people, they just look like ghosts because they are easy to draw. I am lazy. Maybe they really are all the spirits of the deceased? And this is a bizarre afterlife? Perhaps this is an alternate universe where everyone wears those ghost halloween costumes made out of sheets? Anyway, enjoy. They're cute? At least my girlfriend thinks so. They update Tuesdays and Thursdays. And back to the beginning.
