Things to See and Do. The camp has a combined kitchen, dining and lounge area, and dormitory accommodation for up to fifteen campers and staff rooms for four. Entrance and Main Hallway. There are excellent bathing, shower and toilet facilities designed especially for persons with a physical disability. There is a secure playground area, and a wheelchair track around the perimeter of the property. Plans of the camp and its buildings can be found here. Things to See and Do. The original building was built in 1888 as Public School (PS) 2724 Garfield. In 1914, it was moved to its present location as PS 3849 Garfield North. Due to a lack of student numbers, the school closed in 1976. In 1977, the four special schools for the physically disabled in Melbourne took over the building for use as a school camp. A bunk house and ablutions block was added by the Christian Work Camps Group. The first camps began that year. Designed by Ranga Designs.
