Reyl, dat dousend Joar alt Derfje on der Mussel. Reil, das tausendjährige Weindorf an der Mosel. Reil ist der eigentliche Mittelpunkt der Mosellandschaft". Diese Feststellung eines Reiseschriftstellers. Aus den zwanziger Jahren hat nichts von ihrer Gültigkeit verloren. Reil liegt noch immer in der Mitte zwischen Trier und Koblenz und ist daher ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um das malerische Moseltal mit den vielen Flusswindungen, Weinbergen und Burgen zu erkunden.
