Four features of a paragraph:. A) A paragraph has a topic sentence. That states the main idea. It helps the reader understand what the paragraph is about. B) All of the sentences in the paragraph are about one topic. They are connected to the topic sentence–it has unity. The sentences flow easily from one to the next–it is coherent. Good supporting sentences give information that supports and explains the topic of the paragraph. They answer questions-who? And give details to develop. 2 Does it have unity.
