Friday, May 29, 2009. Two Worlds, Same Species. It's well known that giant ground sloths many times larger than it's present day cousins, the three -toed sloths, existed in the Americas millions of years ago. And then, there're the woolly mammoths that roamed the tundra and large, flightless Moa birds from New Zealand that hides in the shadows of the pine forests. These ancient giants a.k.a. mega fauna. The cave paintings of Tambun decorates it's western cliff faces. Now, this is even more interesting!

Friday, March 20, 2009. Fossils, Bones and Thrombollites. Australia contains loads of impressive fossils from ancient dinosaurs to Ice-Age marsupials. My trip to South-western Australia revealed some interesting finds. 1 The omnipresent limestone ridges and hills from Nambung to Perth and from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Augusta as well as in walpole and Albany are remains of marine sediments eroded over millions of years. Random notes from our little family. Saturday, March 30, 2013. All's well in Singapore. In case any of you are wondering what on earth happened to us since our return to sunny Singapore, were fine, were fine. I mean, Singapore is not. 160;Paris, or London, or Santorini, but its a fine city. . I think this story is funnier if you were there in person, but here goes. We were in the car for a short drive to our breakfast spot this morning, when Ju started to whine for my iPhone. Ju: "What special times?

Random notes from our little family. Wednesday, September 04, 2013. Two weeks before the day, when she showed no signs of backing out, I reluctantly moved away from the denial stage, and quickly whipped up something worthy. First, we made sure she does her bit for her own party. So she designed her birthday card, then she helped me make 4 copies of it using bits and bobs. She also provided her own entertainment - a few magic tricks. What else did we do? The cupcakes kept up with the magic theme. The icin...

Random notes from our little family. Sunday, July 14, 2013. Determination and Resourcefulness - Gardens by the Bay. It seems strange to give such a title to a little spot of a garden on a spit of reclaimed land, but that was the impression in our heads as we walked away from the Gardens by the Bay near the Marina Reservoir. The iconic Supertree Groves at the entrance. We don't know much about plants, but it was fascinating to see the unusual colours and shapes even for plant dummies like us. Notice t...
