I went in to the 2011 NSW Omnium knowing it was going to be a tough day, due both to the nature of the event and the competition I was up against. Having won the event last year I had a fair idea what was going to be required to get through the day. Unfortunately things were destined to go against me. The best thing about today is yesterday!

The Shepparton track is what I imagine the Narrabundah track is meant to be like. It is 333m, concrete but unlike 'BundaDome it is relatively smooth and sedate. After a good meal post ITT. And a decision that I would try and get to the end of the tour, I offered to help the Suzuki girls. I had nothing at all to lose and if I had something to do I was more likely to focus on the race. I didn't start the last day due to an elevated heart rate and a slight sore throat....
