Growing Things From Seed. One busy family's approach to all manner of things. Laquo; Merry Christmas! Round our way…. Say hello to Margo! January 3, 2015. I have the feeling that posts will be few and far between for a little while if this wee bundle of spots and excitement has anything to do with it! Every time I think I’ve got a spare minute, I discover the little minx eating the Christmas Tree, rooting through the recycling bin or trying to climb into the fridge whenever it is opened…. Growing Things From Seed. One busy family's approach to all manner of things. Laquo; Say hello to Margo! Knitting school cardigans…. Round our way…. January 19, 2015. We’ve been experiencing some beautiful winter sunsets, such magnificent skies. Norfolk is a county where they can truly be experienced to their fullest. I might have a new kitchen, but no one ever told me that there would have to be some kind of method to where things actually got put! And just generally being super cute. Oh and that slippe...

And The Girls got going with that stalwart of children’s craft activities – the potato print! Still there’s always next week! No time for Flashcards.

Chateau Moorhen: Garden to mid May and a few interesting visitors
https://chateaumoorhen.blogspot.com/2015/05/garden-to-mid-may-and-few-interesting.html
Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Friday, 22 May 2015. Garden to mid May and a few interesting visitors. Funnily enough, having checked to see that we had actually seen these species before in the garden, I discovered three other species I'd forgotten to put on my garden bird list, so it now stands at 62! The full list can be seen on the page Bird Count at the top of the right sidebar. Mistle Thrush ( Turdus viscivorus. Turtle Dove ( Streptopelia turtur. Their nests are a miracle ...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Sunday, 17 May 2015. Veg patch and Pollinator Meadow in May. What's better than one Painted Lady in your garden? Why, two of course! I was so happy to see the return of these migratory beauties last week. They made a beeline for the Dame's Rocket ( Hesperis matronalis. In my Pollinator Meadow, which is quite a hit with butterflies. And a post about it from last year with lots more critters including bee flies and crab spiders is here. The Pollinat...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Monday, 11 May 2015. Latest health update and first Swallowtail. Half of me would prefer not to dwell on the horrid side of life, but I think it's a good idea to keep up with my 'journey', as one day I hope I can look back on this nightmare period and think - thank god that's over! So where was I last? I manage to get in for a scan a few days later and to my delight it was actually a CT scan which only lasted 5 mins, as they hadn't been able to fi...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Saturday, 9 May 2015. Belated blossoms, bugs and bees from April. I've had a really rough week healthwise which I'll explain in a separate post; for now though I want to post these photos that I managed to sort out during one relatively good morning when I was actually able to sit for a bit! But for now, those photos. There are lots of them, but as I haven't posted any for about a month I think I'm entitled to! They were loaded with flowers. Is ev...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. January in the garden Part 2. I've been out this morning doing some real gardening! These photos aren't from this morning - oh no, it was serious 'attack the garden and don't be distracted by taking a camera with me' time. I shall probably pay for it tomorrow aching like crazy. I could have done more but I'm trying to be sensible! I just love this Dogwood at this time of year. Up to 2 metres away from the main plant!

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Tuesday, 28 April 2015. I don't want to whinge, but suffice to say there's a game of ping pong going on with my abscesses; as one starts getting better, the other one starts getting worse! Chemo starts again tomorrow, and I've already dropped two kilos since the last round and it's hard to eat enough to put back the weight when I don't have much appetite, even when the nausea has passed, which takes about a week. Frustrated of Brittany xx. PS Are ...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Friday, 26 September 2014. Anyway, this post is not at all about autumn colour or anything like that, but just a round up of the last week or so and the interesting things I have found. I'm still watering my dry garden, although thankfully plants are not drying out quite so quickly now the weather has cooled, although certain veggies have no idea it's time to slow down; so long as they get sunshine they will just carry on growing! In the collage b...

Pond Life Wild Life Good Life . and a bit of French Life. Sunday, 26 October 2014. Okaaaaay here are some photos taken during the first half of October. I have a bit of catching up to do! Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' at the beginning of October. The yellow perennial was looking good too -. It has daisy like flowers but I don't know what it is. Mid October and the Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea 'Winter Flame'). In the background was (and still is) looking a nice yellow colour. First these ones popped up.
