http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/exiles-international-rugby-and-30th-of.html
Forty Twenty - Rugby League. The Exiles and the 30th of March. So, I think by now everyone has twigged that the eerie looking E badge Below is for the Exiles, a team of UK based foreigners coming together to take on the England team early in June. Others have said it could be the England knights teams badge, but if it is, its not very . 'Englandy'. For what it’s worth, I think that Widnes will get the spot, and I have no qualms with that at all. They have a cracking stadium, good coaches, youth...The Exi...

FortyTwenty Blog: Wigan's Wane Gamble.
http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/wigans-wane-gamble.html
Forty Twenty - Rugby League. Micheal Maguire has announced that he will be leaving the Wigan Warriors at the end of the season to head back down under. To take charge of Russel Crowe's South Sydney Rabbitohs side. The usual name of Shaun Edwards was thrown into the mix very early on, but Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan stated that assistant coach Shaun Wane was in pole position to take the job. But if not promotion from within, what other options do Wigan have? The positives are that they may be settled in th...

FortyTwenty Blog: Refs: 'He never played at the top level'
http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/refs-he-never-played-at-top-level.html
Forty Twenty - Rugby League. Refs: 'He never played at the top level'. Why is it that so little proffesionals, Football or otherwise, decide to referee after they finish playing. After watching Arsenal and Barcelona yesterday, I listened to the interveiw of Wenger, who kept mentioning the ref 'couldn't have played at the highest level'. True, but I can't think of an example of any top level sportsman becoming a ref after retirement. Maybe Roy Keane . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dont get me wrong,...

With some of Super leagues top clubs attending, with a view of setting up a super league team within 5 years. They are again showing their plans for the sports expansion, into new countries aswell as counties. But will that be enough to create a sustainable Rugby League fan base in Ireland? I don't know, but certainly not in 5 years. This year Magners league RU games in Ireland ...

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. England Vs. The Exiles. Firstly, I went into a little bit of an exam induced hibernation, so to anyone who missed my blog (yeah right ….) then I apologise. You wasted a few hours of my life, and im sure everyone else’s who was heading back to the M62. Regardless of fan interest, which is certainly geared more to club rugby than cou...
