The boys are back in town; back to winning ways. Huddersfield got back to winning ways against Hull KR on Saturday night after three losses in a row. It was our first game back at the Galpharm stadium after playing our last three "home" matches at The Shay whilst the pitch was being renovated; in my honest opinion it didn't look any different but I'm no grass expert. It was good to be back in my cushioned seat though! Ou knew this was coming didn't you? Well done to all my boys, especially the young ones...

Mid Week Round Up; Wednesday 25th May 2011. So, this is my first mid week round up of #rugbyleague. On the blog. I love writing and seeing as I have some (if only a little) time off over the next few weeks I thought it would be a good time to start it. I’m going to do a run down over the top stories in rugby league. The majority will be from Super League but I'll try and add some other stuff too! We had the Challenge Cup 5. Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors - BBC 4:30pm 230711. St Helens v Hull KR.

I'm a tad bored of posting so often at the minute as I never have the time to do much else. I'm thinking about what I can do in the future to liven it up a bit and get more page views. I don't get enough page views to continue putting as much work into my blog as I have been doing. Sorry if you're a faithful reader! Enjoy your rugby league. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). FortyTwenty Blog: The Exiles and the 30th of March

http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/exiles-international-rugby-and-30th-of.html

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. The Exiles and the 30th of March. So, I think by now everyone has twigged that the eerie looking E badge Below is for the Exiles, a team of UK based foreigners coming together to take on the England team early in June. Others have said it could be the England knights teams badge, but if it is, its not very . 'Englandy'. For what it’s worth, I think that Widnes will get the spot, and I have no qualms with that at all. They have a cracking stadium, good coaches, youth...The Exi...

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. As you may be able to tell, i have been blogging alot on the expansion of Rugby league, and wanted to touch on international Rugby and the island hoppers that are jumping from one nationality to another. Evans in Wales National shirt. Has recently been updated and gives some great insight into how far reaching the sport has become since super league. I still think we are moving in the right direction . Links to this post. The Exiles and the 30th of March. So, I think by now e...

FortyTwenty Blog: Wigan's Wane Gamble.

http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/wigans-wane-gamble.html

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. Micheal Maguire has announced that he will be leaving the Wigan Warriors at the end of the season to head back down under. To take charge of Russel Crowe's South Sydney Rabbitohs side. The usual name of Shaun Edwards was thrown into the mix very early on, but Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan stated that assistant coach Shaun Wane was in pole position to take the job. But if not promotion from within, what other options do Wigan have? The positives are that they may be settled in th...

FortyTwenty Blog: Big Willies bandwagon halted?

http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/big-willies-bandwagon-halted.html

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. Big Willies bandwagon halted? So it looks like by many accounts that Big Willie will be moving on after a year with Hull KR to play union in France with Toulon. First reprted by Aussie Telegrpah post. The big prop has been earmarked by the French outfit as an inside centre, moving at the end of the year on a reported 450,000 Euros. This comes on the back of Hull KR preparing a press release about Mason and injured half back Micheal Dobson. That is due today at 2pm. Neatly fol...

FortyTwenty Blog: Refs: 'He never played at the top level'

http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/refs-he-never-played-at-top-level.html

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. Refs: 'He never played at the top level'. Why is it that so little proffesionals, Football or otherwise, decide to referee after they finish playing. After watching Arsenal and Barcelona yesterday, I listened to the interveiw of Wenger, who kept mentioning the ref 'couldn't have played at the highest level'. True, but I can't think of an example of any top level sportsman becoming a ref after retirement. Maybe Roy Keane . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dont get me wrong,...

FortyTwenty Blog: Ireland rugby league

http://fortytwentyblog.blogspot.com/2011/05/ireland-rugby-league.html

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. The RFL have announced that they are to set up a scouting camp in the Irish city of Limmerick. With some of Super leagues top clubs attending, with a view of setting up a super league team within 5 years. They are again showing their plans for the sports expansion, into new countries aswell as counties. But will that be enough to create a sustainable Rugby League fan base in Ireland? I don't know, but certainly not in 5 years. This year Magners league RU games in Ireland ...

Forty Twenty - Rugby League. England Vs. The Exiles. Firstly, I went into a little bit of an exam induced hibernation, so to anyone who missed my blog (yeah right ….) then I apologise. I have been keeping my beady eyes on the goings on of the league, the Willie Mason saga and sponsorship and possible club changes to Super league. You wasted a few hours of my life, and im sure everyone else’s who was heading back to the M62. Regardless of fan interest, which is certainly geared more to club rugby than cou...
