Making hay while the sun shines. Thursday, April 20, 2006. I sat and watched a folk-girl mix it up with her band last night. She sang of mindless corporations, artificial realities and simple love. She sang for peace, a better world of freedom and equality. And her naive musings struck a chord with us all. But I get up and go to work every day with an editor who doesn't know arse from elbow. Doesn't have time to sit and discuss reporters' concerns until they burst into tears under pressure. All in one day.

Making hay while the sun shines. Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Ok, so it might be a shameful, contemptuous, capitalistic trade to ply but it does have its plus points. Spent the day on the beach, in the sunshine, chatting to fishermen and other locals. My face is tanned, I wrote a lovely creative little feature and I haven't done anybody any harm all day.
