Do I have to wear a wetsuit? It is recommended to wear a wetsuit, but not mandatory. Most swimmers do wear one. The water temperature is usually warm enough to not need a wetsuit but the water temperature in the middle of the lake can be a little cooler, so a wetsuit will keep you warmer and you'll also benefit from the added buoyancy. How will I meet up with my support paddler at the start line? On each platform will be a volunteer that will direct your support paddler to where they need to go. It is much easier for you to find your support paddler than your paddler to find you! Once you in the water, you look like every other swimmer with a cap on. Do not rely on your support paddler trying to find you! DO NOT ATTACH ANYTHING TO YOURSELF! You'll just get yourself and others all tangled up. Here's some actual examples:.

Can you see the finish line from the start line? Our huge finish line archway is slightly visible from the start line. When you start swimming you will be swimming into the sun, so it can be difficult to sight. Look for the clump of trees to the left of the bridge, these are the trees in City Park.
