Northumberland park is two stops away. There is a daily bus that goes to the forts of Hadrians wall. Lake District is close by. Two recommended places in the Lake District: Ambleside and Buttermere. In Northumberland for the night before heading to North Yorkshire for one of the main events on our trip, the Deershed Festival. Incidentally, this is the name of the area the carpark was in. Thursday, November 1, 2012. Hadrian's Cycleway - A Coast to Coast to Coast trip. 5:30 we left Hayfield on the Saturday morning, with a planned start of cycling from Bowness on Solway at 8am. Things did not go according to plan. Shortlived was our relief, because as we turned off for Carlisle, I could feel the spare tyre was now also flat. We were having some luck though, as we drew to a halt only a few yards from an ATS tyre place. A quick change into our cycling clothes, a photo, and at 11:04 we were off.

In December, Kerry's dad and his wife came to visit. It was not my best day. Our oven was being kind of fluky. Sometimes it would take FOREVER to get hot. Well, the morning of That Day the oven did. Get hot. And when the oven gets hot, you bake. We had various Christmas events coming, so I got busy. I think I baked seventeen. It was not his best day.

The victim of horrible abuse as a puppy, Otter was left unable to use his back legs. Yet, he lived his life with verve, never letting his disability get in his way. His strength, perseverance and ability to forgive was remarkable. He truly embodied the phrase, to err is human, to forgive canine! Rest in peace my sweet Otter.
