My Hip Story: Getting Up!
http://hipstorypao.blogspot.com/2007/08/getting-up.html
This is my story of being diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, and the Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy surgery. Tuesday, 7 August 2007. It was Saturday morning when my catheter was taken out, it doesn't hurt, it's just a slight sting for a moment. I was also glad to see the back of the drip too, it becomes really annoying after a while. The physio team came to see me again, this time to try and get me to the toilet and back! My Hip Story: How It All Started
http://hipstorypao.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-it-all-started.html
This is my story of being diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, and the Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy surgery. Thursday, 2 August 2007. How It All Started. I was 25 years old when I was finally diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. I never experienced any pain or problems with my hips as a child. The first I remember of any pain was when I was about 14 years old. It was really only when I was running, or walking for a long period that I would get the uncomfortable achy, and occasional. As time went on and I got older, the p...

My Hip Story: Follow up appointment
http://hipstorypao.blogspot.com/2007/08/follow-up-appointment.html
This is my story of being diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, and the Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy surgery. Tuesday, 7 August 2007. I had a follow up appointment 6-7 weeks post surgery, after another x-ray I was given the ok for partial weight bearing. My consultant told me firstly to lift my left leg which I could do no problem, and then to lift my right leg. I was terrified that meant standing on my left (my operated side)! My Hip Story: Recovery continues...
http://hipstorypao.blogspot.com/2007/08/recovery-continues.html
This is my story of being diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, and the Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy surgery. Tuesday, 7 August 2007. The first 3 weeks following the operation it is painful and restricting, you can't do very much at all. My life seemed to revolve around sleeping, eating, watching telly and reading. I found on the fourth week things became a lot easier and I could get around a bit more, and ventured out although I was always worried about falling over! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Hip Story: The Scar
http://hipstorypao.blogspot.com/2007/08/scar.html
This is my story of being diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, and the Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy surgery. Tuesday, 7 August 2007. My scar goes from my side just below my waist down to the top of my pubic hair. I was 'glued' so I didn't have to worry about having stiches or clips removed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
