In every walk with nature, one receives far more that he seeks. John Muir. The rivers →. August 29, 2014. Today we hiked over the 300 mile mark for this trip. We had great views of the mountains. Mt. Hood. Mt St Helens and Mt. Rainier. We could see Eagle Creek, which is where we’ll be heading tomorrow to finish this trip. We only hiked a little over 13 miles today to Indian Spring where we made camp. It’s the last time Jim has to blow up the air mattresses. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

We took our time this morning having coffee. Jim picked huckleberries for my cereal. When we entered Jefferson Park, it was like walking into the Garden of Eden. In every walk with nature, one receives far more that he seeks. John Muir. Fires and plan B. Thunderstorms and Cresent Lake →. We’re on our way. August 10, 2014. It’s so incredibly thoughtful and appreciated that someone will take the time from their day to help hikers. The forest was more interesting as we meandered along. We gained quite a bit of elevation and came to Mt. Thielson. Then we finally made it to our first water source, Thielson Creek. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Fires and plan B.

It is easy to see why when you are presented with clear blue skies and views that stretch as far away as Mt Taranaki. From here the climbing is over and the descent begins. After winding around the side of Mt Tongariro the track Zigzags to the Ketetahi Hut and then gently winds down into the tree line with the final few kilometres alongside a stream and through some very tranquil bush. The only ...
