Perch in the 12-14 inch range are biting in the northern bay of Houghton Lake. The prefered presentation is a minnow on a jighead, fished in approximately 9 feet of water, just off the bottom. From left Dan, Ryan and Blake with Northern Pike. We were fishing for about 30 minutes when we had a couple of nibbles, then the 1st tip-up flag went up. Reeling it in we found a nice Northern Pike on the end of the line. He went after a blue. Ice on Houghton Lake is between 8-10 inches where we fished. Northern Pike and Yellow Perch are biting.
