So I actually broke my 18-55mm lens a little while back, by dropping it (with D2H. Attached, which survived unscathed) on the way home from seeing the Norfolk Arena Drift Team. If I wanted to sound much more interesting than I am, I'd tell you that I was photographing drift racing and I broke my lens. Which is technically entirely true! That if I took an awesome photo with the ancient 2.7 megapixel Nikon D1. And a broken lens. I rather like this, despite the noise, which was shot in the Willoughby Arms.

I wonder about the accuracy of either 1) Exiftool or 2) the 18-70mm's distance encoder, because it claims I was focused at 10 metres and I am pretty sure it was a heck of a lot closer than that. Hmm. Nikon Series E 70-210mm f/4. This is the Nikon Series E 70-210mm f/4. A great and cheap manual-focus lens. It's my default lens for product photography. Depth of field scale. Series E" means "cheap". Nikon 55-200mm VR, mounted on a D1. Attached to a Caidoz. I love my Nikon 55-200mm VR. It is one of Nikon's cheapest telephoto zooms, and an inexplicably good one. This lens will work great on every small-sensored (DX) Nikon digital SLR, all the way back to 1999's Nikon D1. Full frame digital SLRs can crop to the DX area, but you don't want to do this. It sort of works on 35mm cameras at the 200mm end, on cameras that can drive AF-S lenses, but you don't want to do this either. Shot with a Nikon D1.
