The Designer's Muse: Velvet Splendor
http://thedesignersmuse.blogspot.com/2012/02/velvet-splendor.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. What's better than a velvet sofa? When my children are grown, and we no longer have any pets, I hope I will be ready and able to splurge on a velvet sofa. It will be a grayish blue-green like the one above from the English company Beaumont and Fletcher. Or perhaps from George Smith. Another fabulous English furniture company. And it will definitely have some tufting. Until then, I will get my fix by looking at photos, and specifying for my clients. February 9, 2012 at 1:30 PM.

The Designer's Muse: Wolf Kahn; master of color and light
http://thedesignersmuse.blogspot.com/2012/03/wolf-kahn-master-of-color-and-light.html
Saturday, March 10, 2012. Wolf Kahn; master of color and light. April 30, 2012 at 4:39 PM. We actually own a Wolf Kahn and I have it in a hallway because the colors are so vibrant, they are a bit hard to blend with my french country look. I do adore his work, and we inherited this from my in-laws. Its red and yellow with a touch of royal blue. It should be showcased over a mantel, center stage! I feel guilty hiding it in the hallway to my bedroom! June 16, 2016 at 1:52 AM. December 6, 2014 at 4:39 AM.

The Designer's Muse: The Perfect Potager
http://thedesignersmuse.blogspot.com/2012/04/perfect-potager.html
Thursday, April 5, 2012. Here are five elements I feel are critical to include in the perfect Potager. Raised beds are best, edged with cobble stones, bluestone, or wood planks. It's a practical solution, but also adds a lot of beauty. I tend to like symmetry.so it's a perfect way to give the garden a sense of order. Lovely paths between the beds are a must: pea gravel, bricks, bluestone, grass, or wood chips are all great choices for the paths. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Designer's Muse: October 2013
http://thedesignersmuse.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 23, 2013. I love the look of the Dutch door where the top half of the door is glass. This Dutch door softens the look of the formal entry foyer above. It also adds a human element, and some movement to a potentially static environment. I love these high gloss black doors. I also love the framed maps beyond! The top half of this door lines up with the sidelights for a pulled together look on this porch. The whimsical color is also a nice, unexpected touch. Links to this post. I'm an arc...

Monday, December 2, 2013. Let the Decorating Begin: Five Steps to a Great Holiday Exterior. Canadian House and Home. You can achieve a festive holiday look for you home in five simple steps. The first step is a great wreath at the front door. I like the silvery leaves and white berries of this wreath below. A great natural wreath can also provide a wonderful aroma as you approach and enter a home. I like the combination of greens and small golden bells on this wreath. Pocket Full of Posies. The Designer's Muse: February 2014
http://thedesignersmuse.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 14, 2014. Pale Pink is not just for little girls. The right shade of pink, in the right setting can look really sophisticated. This room is a great example. The pink paneled walls combined with neutrals, moss greens, and some great furniture creates an elegant not girly look. I love the mix of antique and modern in this photo, also couldn't resist the pooch. This is a great look: a masculine trim combined with a feminine color.results are ultra sophisticated.
