Drinking Coffee Elsewhere: Mongolia. Expat life and travels in Mongolia. Monthly Archives: June 2014. Sunday Hike at Bogd Khaan, Ulaanbaatar. June 25, 2014. Stunning rock slides, formed by long-ago glaciers, and a spring, with water you can drink. We reached the ridge after about an hour and half, and it was time to eat! We continued along the ridge, through woods filled with wildflowers. Then the woods opened up to some serious drama. On the way down, everyone took photos of each other. June 19, 2014.

This boy below actually seems old for the sport — the idea is to minimize the weight on the horse in order to maximize speed. Mongolia signed th...

We headed southwest for six days along the “Heartland Circuit.”. Some parts of Uvgun have been rebuilt, however, and the granddaughter (celibacy was not fully implemented, apparently) now tends the site. Drinking Coffee Elsewhere: Mongolia. Expat life and travels in Mongolia. Naadam, Small Town Mongolia. July 21, 2014. We got the very good advice to spend Naadam, Mongolia’s biggest holiday, in one of the smaller towns rather than in Ulaanbaatar.
