http://nokuse.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Tonight we had a little New Year's Party at dinner - seafood feast - oysters, crab cakes, and stone crab claws. Toasting the new year with sparkling cider (and OJ for Michael). Matt proposed to me 9 years ago this night! He's still the light of my life-. Looks like Michael enjoyed the chocolate cream pie! After watching King Julien's countdown, the boys are off to bed before 8 and we'll not be far behind! A few more pictures from Christmas -. Legos from Granma and Papa!

Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. It snowed this evening in Calhoun, Georgia! The kids are crazy with the hope that school will be cancelled tomorrow. I do not want to miss school.we will be required to make up the day.I would rather have the snow day off! On the other hand I remember growing up in Birmingham, Alabama and missing school for snow and ice. Those were the days! Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs that I Read.

Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest: September 2007
http://greggreen.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest. Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Harbin Peach Orchard, 1900. As I examine and study the images of Calhoun's past I am often surprised by the subject of the photograph. Vanished chapters in our history that are as much of our community fabric as the Outlet Mall and Carpet industry of today are often discovered. Take the photograph above for example. The citation that accompanies the photograph states the following:. Wednesday, September 12, 2007.

Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest. Monday, June 16, 2008. Monday, June 16, 2008. The concrete man was made by Cap McEntyre in the 1950's or 60's. He held a mailbox in his right hand. Cap was a cabinetmaker, woodworker, artist and collector of some note. Quite a guy. September 4, 2008 at 9:28 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest: Two Unknown Irishmen of Chandler Cemetery
http://greggreen.blogspot.com/2008/04/two-unknown-irishmen-of-chandler.html
Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest. Sunday, April 20, 2008. Two Unknown Irishmen of Chandler Cemetery. Took a visit this afternoon to the Chandler Cemetery that sits high above Calhoun. I saw an odd looking homemade tombstone with usual writing. But what was the most surprising was the following epitaph:. Who died in a RR wreck. At the foot were two small oval stones, each inscribed with the word “Irish”. There is a story here. Vanishing Calhoun and Other Items of Historical Interest. Sunday, January 25, 2009. N 34º 32.663 W 084 º 51.934. Gordon County, Georgia. This church is located out in the county, but it definitely meets the definition of vanishing. The roof is falling in, windows have been removed, and the masonry is crumbling. A descendent of the builder told me that it was probably going to be bulldozed. She was going to try and recover the marble plaque before the church vanishes. Sunday, January 25, 2009. My Genealog...
