My View … from the corner of Trafalgar Fifth. Is corn an herb? August 7, 2012 · Filed under Gardening. Answer: no, corn is not a herb. Then why are there 4 corn plants flourishing in the traffic circle garden at 6th and Trafalgar. Well someone (not me) planted them there. There are several reasons why this doesn’t work:. 1 height restriction is 24″ – the corn bypassed that very quickly. 4 if corn was an herb, I’d welcome it – but I’d still like to be consulted. 6 when people stop by to talk with me they ...

Skip to Main Content Area. Converting awareness into action. The Peace River Region is known for its beautiful clear skies, and we want to keep it that way. Air quality issues are usually associated with smoggy skylines over large cities, but that does not mean that we can ignore this invisible source of pollution. Our air quality concerns stem out of two completely avoidable day-to-day actions: vehicle idling and burning garbage. If you must burn, burn smarter and cleaner:. For additional information, v...

My View … from the corner of Trafalgar Fifth. Carex Ice Dance – free to you! April 28, 2015 · Filed under Free Plants. We have this great carex ice dance perennial grass. Actually I just learned it’s technically a sedge, not a grass. It’s so wonderful and hardy it spreads and we have some to share. Great for edging,. For replacing lawn. Heck! It’s good for replacing weeds – which we might do along the laneway. Http:/ vancouver.ca/home-property-development/recommended-plant-list.aspx. I find people love i...

My View … from the corner of Trafalgar Fifth. I’ve lived at the corner of Trafalgar and Fifth for over 20 years (who knew time would fly? I returned with a husband and baby and haven’t left since. I make art – and I like making art as a community builder. I worked for five years for the Community Arts Council of Vancouver. Just wa...

My View … from the corner of Trafalgar Fifth. July in the Tra-Sixth Garden. July 5, 2014 · Filed under Gardening. There are herbs to be picked. For some things, picking is a great favour to me because many plants like a regular haircut to keep at their best. Among the herbs you could take LOTS of, are:. Lemonbalm and chocolate mint – I’ve been throwing some of this way–in to the compost! Sage – cut back about 4’6″ pieces. I want it pruned to get bushier. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. My View … from the corner of Trafalgar Fifth. The housing co-op I live in is the Trafalgar Cooperative Housing Association. We were founded in 1974 – had our 35th birthday in 2009. We have three buildings and a total of 20 units. We’re very proud of having the designation of the Most Beautiful Block in Vancouver for 2001. Our sign is on Trafalgar near 5th – I get to admire it from my bedroom window. The Canadian Bar Association. Also has quite a good summary of what co-op housing is all about. Sorry R...
