Just another WordPress.com site. Corporate Visits →. Taj Mahal and Red Fort. January 6, 2012. So my Jaipur post is being pushed back, probably to the point where I won’t remember what anything was, but thankfully there is Wikipedia. I’m more excited to talk about what we saw yesterday, which was among the coolest places I’ve ever visited. It was really foggy in Agra in the morning, so we went to the Red Fort. I think a visit is a lot cheaper for Indians, and they have different security procedures which ...

Just another WordPress.com site. Newer posts →. Road Trip to Jaipur. January 3, 2012. Despite leaving Delhi by 7:15, I think my best memory of the day took place there. There was a gate open right next to the stand where there were two tombs. I don’t know much about them, but its always nice to get some tourism in before 630am when you can. January 2, 2012. The bus ride in was kind of exciting, but not nearly as bad as I thought. I didn’t see a single cow in the road! January 2, 2012. December 29, 2011.

Just another WordPress.com site. January 14, 2012. Just a quick post to a short story about the role of Mumbai in the Indian economy. @paragkhanna is a good follow on Twitter for discussions on emerging markets. This video relates to my earlier point on localism, and how its a much bigger factor for most people than nationalism. I love the walk through the slum, although I’ll be staying away when I’m there. Just another WordPress.com site. Site Visits and Pune. January 14, 2012. 1 Indian people will be different than the Indians I’ve met. 2 Indian business culture will be more formal. Like with so much else we saw a lot of variation here. Nowhere did the culture seem more formal than in the US. There were more formal companies, mostly the large global ones. There were also some less formal ones, mostly the smaller firms. 3 India won’t be as bad as it sometimes sounds. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Its hard to blog about these companies we’ve visited without revealing too much information, so rather than saying anything specific I think I’ll summarize now that we’ve completed all of them. I might think of more things, but basically I came away very impressed. The only things I still wonder about are the home-life issues. How long before Indians don’t want to work late into the evening? Final thoughts →.
