elyse in the world: Those things that find you...
http://elyseintheworld.blogspot.com/2010/10/those-things-that-find-you.html
Elyse in the world. Those things that find you. Instead of the other way around. So much of life is spent looking and searching. for someTHING, someONE, some PLACE. That sometimes we forget to stop and thank the Lord for those things that find US. Those certain experiences, places, people, etc that find us and take us by surprise. Like Mustard Seed Church. In Ghana, one song in particular hit me hard and has stuck with me. Remember my post a few months back about the song, "God of This City? God followed...

Elyse in the world. Eating Soap and Oil Fires. Okay, so I've been thinking all day about the blog I was going to write when I got home tonight and now I have a real story to tell! I'll start with the scary one and end with the funny one. That's when I realized my thumb hurt pretty badly and was probably burned. Back in the kitchen I can't remember what happened but I started to feel bad that I had poured out all of Amanda's oil :-( Sorry Amanda! I could be in a Ghanaian hospital right now. BAH! That's ap...

http://goldengirlgabs.blogspot.com/2013/03/day-12-amsterdam-to-america_27.html
Monday, March 25, 2013. Day 12 - Amsterdam to America. Monday, March 25th. We landed in Amsterdam at 530am local time (730am Africa time and 1130pm Alabama time). After breakfast at McDonalds and Starbucks, Shayna and I got pedicures at the XpresSpa in the airport. So nice to clean up our feet after the dirt of South Sudan! We sat around Starbucks for several hours and played games, journaled, discussed the week and used the Internet. A few comments about future plans and Four Corners work in South Sudan:.

http://goldengirlgabs.blogspot.com/2013/03/day-8-wiroh-clinic.html
Thursday, March 21, 2013. Day 8 - Wiroh Clinic. Thursday, March 21st. Today we traveled to Wiroh, which took about 1 hour - 20 minutes on highway 1 and then the rest on off-road paths that were very bumpy and rocky. It was definitely off the beaten path! The men had left with our supplies at 5am so they could make the round trip and then come back to get us. Tonight was our last night at Buagyi, so we packed up everything before we went to bed. We also "enjoyed" our last bucket shower. Our 5 nigh...Going...

elyse in the world: Reverential Awe
http://elyseintheworld.blogspot.com/2011/03/reverential-awe.html
Elyse in the world. 1 a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined. The ground isn't going anywhere." Well, I've heard that at least once or twice. But what if - what if - one time when you go to take that next step the ground really isn't there? Of course I'm exaggerating a bit but how can anyone shrug off. The movement of the ground? I'm not sure I'll ever get used to that - no matter how small. And you will go for us? Number - scares me...
