My Dublin Experience: October 2008
http://caroindublin.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Caroline's blog about life in Ireland! Tuesday, October 28, 2008. At only one hour distance from Dublin, there is a whole new world to discover with hills and lakes and woodland. In total over 20,000 hectares make up the Wicklow Mountains Nation. Al Park and apparently, the highest peak in the mountain range is the Lugnaquilla with 924 m. I went there on Sunday with some fellow adventurers and we just loved it! One good option is to go by bu. I just feel like the country is welcoming me. Now entering it&...

The Dail Ministers: Enda Kenny
http://thedailministers.blogspot.com/2008/09/enda-kenny.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2008. In the fine words of Jay-Z, Enda Kenny "has 99 problems but a bitch ain't one". Yes yes, one of Enda's many problems is that he wears horrendously tight spandex pants while cycling, as evident in the photo above. Enda Kenny is the goober on the right by the way.Apparently he had just come off stabilisers that morning, which would explain the whole veering towards the side barrier. Problem 26 of 99 - Enda just wont let some things go. He recently released an auto-biography...

Harry McGee: March 2007

Inside politics Outside politics. Saturday, March 31, 2007. INSIDE POLITICS - PROMISES, PROMISES. This árd fheis will not be about making promises that we cannot deliver, Fine Gael deputy leader Richard Bruton said on Thursday. Where did we hear that line before? Oh, yes, here in fact. In this column last week we quoted Seamus Brennan saying that Fianna Fáil’s árd fheis will not be about making promises that we cannot deliver. How wrong can you be? In fairness, you can be sure that Fine Gael won’t ...

The Dail Ministers: October 2008
http://thedailministers.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 25, 2008. There's John with a human sized elf. Is it any wonder that the State's finances are as about as healthy as Wiemar Germany when the Department of Environment has to bribe people to dress up as fictional creatures to promote a "greener Ireland". There's also too much good shit already on the interweb about this bloke. Like here. But I'll give it a lash - grows up in Limerick, becomes a TD in 1997 and goes on to make a tit of himself on RTE. Shown here. Your idea of heaven? Livin...

Planning Dispatch by Garry Miley - Irish Planning Analysed, Planning Ireland - Behold. Someone has finally not answered my questions on Ballymun

Behold. Someone has finally not answered my questions on Ballymun. Many thanks to Deputy Terence Flanagan for his relentless efforts in obtaining answers to some questions I put to the Public Accounts Committee on the cost overruns on the Ballymun Regeneration Project. It took him two years. Earlier this week, we got a response from Ciaran Murray, Managing Director of Ballymun Regeneration Limited. I won’t bore you (yet) with his ten page reply. Here’s a little. The X million cost to the taxpayer doesn’t...

Planning Dispatch by Garry Miley - Irish Planning Analysed, Planning Ireland - Planning Applications Down Big Time
http://www.garrymiley.com/CommentView,guid,d1018ae4-0339-4f63-8850-822813d7713d.aspx
Planning Applications Down Big Time. Having reached the half way point in 2009, I thought I’d have a quick look at a few planning application numbers from around the country for January to June. In Clare, there were 680 planning applications to the end of June. This compares to 1750 for the same period in 2007. On quick perusal, applications are for no more than extensions and retentions. Wednesday, August 31, 2005. I'm sure by now you've heard the news that a Catholic primary school in Ballymena was. In the north Antrim area. The school on the Cullybackey Road was set alight by arsonists last night, causing damage to part of the building. The previous night, five petrol bombs were thrown into another Catholic school in the Harryville area of Ballymena. This is disgraceful. What kind of depraved individuals commit an arson attack on a school? Says it all really. Over the next week I will ...
