I had never heard about it until a few days ago when my friend Josee (who is from Quebec) told me about it. Sunday, March 7, 2010. Krusball A Swedish Marshmallow Confection. I did not make those! They are from Ikea. I just had to share because they are so wonderful! They are coconut flavored, chocolate covered, soft and fluffy marshmallows. We've been back from Ikea for about an hour and I already ate three. The name of this recipe (from Kids in the Holiday Kitchen. 3 ounces (3/4 stick) softened butter. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp baking powder. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. 1/2 cup dried cherries. 1/2 cup rolled oats (not instant). 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Set oven temperature to 375°F. In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Heaven on a Spoon.

Saturday, October 24, 2009. Flan Patissier (Sweet Custard Tart). Flan patissier is another favorite of mine from the boulangerie/patisserie in France. I don't recall seeing this in the US but I am sure there must be an equivalent. I had to make the recipe twice before getting it right. The first time I made it, I misread the recipe which ended in a complete disaster (more on that later in the post). First thing first, the shortcrust pastry (pâte brisée).
